The famous west lake. While we were there it was misty and sky was hazy. Couldn't get a nice picture of the lake. The lake was okay to us as we have seen much beautiful lakes in most countries. West lake is a must see destination in Hangzhou

Nice place to sightsee and relax. No major attractions here just observing nature. If you have time I suggest checking it out.

If you want to save a few RMB and be with a horrible crowd trying to take pics and not allow you to take a pic, then by all means visit this free attraction. I read some decent reviews about this place and wanted to check it out but it was ridiculous. It’s my fault for expecting anything more as... More

Stopped by the garden and ponds to see some koi carp, but was not really enthralled. If you are doing the Hangzhou West lake, you may as well stop. maybe it will appeal.

It’s like a park with ponds full of red carps and flower beds. It's also a place to relax and to stay away from the stream of tourists. well, just a bit less. It’s quite worth visiting not only because of its admission-free but also it’s just located off the south end of the Su Beach (“Su Di”) within walking... More

Overcrowed with noisy local tourist who tried to push each other out or stand in front of you for photos. The fish are overfeed by tourists, they are so fat...

This must be one of the worst places I have been to. It is frequently so crowded with local tourists (I think they have not much other places to go to in Hangzhou, so they tend to come here because it is free) and it is frequently polluted with smog so all the temples in the background becomes blurry. The... More

Unlike the other big town in China, Hangzhou gives you very peaceful atmosphere just right in the middle of the town. Here you can spend your entire day enjoying the West Lake. Love it.

Not exceptional. You can see the stone where the emperor wrote Chinese characters. Since it's at the entrance of the Su Causeway south entrance and the boats arriving/departures just in front, it's so busy and noisy. We just enter less than 5 minutes and went out. It's free
