A girlfriend & I saw Impresion Westlake last September (2014) and it was amazing. I wasn't submitting Trip Advisor reviews back then but decided I should now share my experience of this incredible spectacle. Be warned... it's an outdoor concert so weather plays a major role. Having said that, we decided to go to the show despite the rain. We... More

I am so glad we took the time to see this show... definitely worth a visit. It is directed by Zhang Yimou and others, with a soundtrack by Kitaro. the show was spectacular and truly exceeded my expectations. A beautiful legend told in music, light and dance... I was so focused on every part of the performane until the very... More

If you have to chose on a trip which extras to do this one is expensive for what it is and i probably wouldn't do it again. It was fun to see people walk on water as the stage is set under the West lake but the story line was slow. Guys won't like it, it's more of a Romeo... More

The show was very pleasant and nice to watch, despite the rain starting at the start of the performance and lasting the entire duration. They provide you with ponchos should they be needed which weren't perfect, but definitely helped. The show itself was of mixed quality. It has the potential to be an epic and emotional performance, the main actors... More

60 mins show with natural scenery as stage. I have heard that it was usually performed by the "production company", and it was sold to the local company later on. The performance was not as good as before since then. I saw the performance on a rainy and windy day. The group dancing and acting was not unified. The performance... More

This show is directed by Zhang Yimou who also directed the Beijing opening ceremony. A massive stage just below the water so it appears as if artists are floating on the water. Get an understanding of story before show to give insight. Nice to watch from a technical perspective - Lighting, visual effects. However thought that the "dance/acting" execution was... More

It was quite fantastic, yet it was more natural flow arts. Revealing performances were executed fluently. But there was no Eng dub or translations. I was not sure what was going on, so I enjoyed only the performances not the stories, which I heard it was touching for hangzhou locals. Director is Zhang yi mou so it's quite expensive for... More

Take a walk around the West lake, arrive few moments before show begins, push through huge crowds of fellow Chinese non-payers and enjoy the stunning show. Nice for a couple night. Not worth to pay for the tickets, just find a suitable spot around west lake and watch for free.

This was a very nice place to visit and just set and enjoy the surroundings. If you are in the area take time if you have it to visit and enjoy the people and the show.

Yes, the performers did most of the show on water, sometimes just walk on it! It is an outdoor show, so the best season to view it is Spring and Fall.
