It is within a commercial area and lots of foot traffic. The Kunming departmental store, is a good place to shop. There is a supermarket at the basement and the clothes are fashionable and up to date. The "Brothers' Jiang", has an outlet there. It is for the famous "over the bridge noodle". just note that they close for afternoon... More

The street itself is just an average Chinese shopping street with loudspeaker equipped cheap and not so cheap clothing stores. The small alleys around this street however are really cool! You can spend hours walking around the small streets! To the north there is the flowers and animal market, the few streets with traditional houses left in the city, and... More

Very nice place to spend a day .Lot of shopping options and the main square is always bustling with people . If you like pastries there is a good pastry shop near the main square called RAMBO BREAD SHOP which serves good quality pastries. There are vendors selling fresh fruits like strawberries .pineapples, blueberries. If you miss your burgers and... More

In comparison to Shanghai and Beijing this street is a little tame. But it is still a central location to shop for branded goods. It is interesting to observe the people along the street from beggars to blind masseurs. There are also tanks where you can feed the many fishes.

There is a snack center here, and the food types vary from Chinese northern food to southeast Asia. And the price there is very reasonable. So it is a good place for tourists from outside Asia.

Napping street is located in the business center. If you want to shop in shopping malls and looking for brand items, you must go there to have a look. After six thirty, you can find many hawkers will open their stalls on the road. The street is full of people even after 10:30 p.m. The transportation is not quite convenient,... More

Spent 3 hours walking around the area off the beaten path. Great fashion buys for ladies but guys have to look elsewhere.

Excellent place to visit and walk around in the evening. Lovely neon lights from the shopping centers around it. Pedestrian-only. Great and cheap meat skewers in the middle of the road. Enjoyable shopping experience with all sorts of clothing stores.

Napping street was once the financial center of southwest China especially during World War II, nowadays, it serves as the business center of Kunming, there are some banks and some good restaurants just located at xiang yuan street. You can also visit the golden horse archway, or have a walk at birds and flower market.

I didn't find an English language review of this place, so I thought I would add one. I go there frequently, last time this past weekend. The main thing for a tourist to know is that this is a lively walking street, no car traffic allowed. It's a place you can safely stretch your legs after many hours on the... More
