World Expo Park! nice, relaxed, good for couples

From downtown Kunming we took one or two city buses. The city buses are cheap and a little uncomfortable. But if you know how to use one, or have a guide, you don't need a taxi or... read more

If you don't like eating left over's in a restaurant, you might not like this garden neither. The site probably hosted a massive hori-expo...back in 1999. It is not much effort is put into maintaining the site in the last 15 years. The only exhibit that I liked would be the Chinese bonsai garden. There were gardens from many countries... More

Aging horticultural park with run-down country pavilions (except the China provinces, of course), but still a nice walk, and a very interesting stone lottery where people buy your average Joe rock hoping to find treasures inside (jade) some rocks go as high as 400,000 USD.

This place was really a disappointment. The entrance fee is now incredibly high considering that this is now little more than an ageing and run-down garden.

There is a lot to see and parts of it are very impressive but it needs to be better maintained. We visited in the winter during cold weather when few of the flowering plants were looking at their best. It may be unfair to judge the Expo from this visit. It was very interesting but Kunming has other sites that... More

I come here about once a year and always enjoy the flowers. It's a popular place for weddings, and I was attending the wedding of a local friend. Came early so I could walk around and see some of my favorite exhibits again. Easy to get to by public bus from different parts of the city. Admission is expensive, but... More

From downtown Kunming we took one or two city buses. The city buses are cheap and a little uncomfortable. But if you know how to use one, or have a guide, you don't need a taxi or tour bus. The park is huge! We arrived around lunch time and left near closing. There wasn't enough time to see everything. Each... More

We went here in April 2013. It was during dry season, and clearly it was out of season for the expo as well. There wasn't much to see considering the high admission fee.

Just after entry... a sound wow will come out from your mouth. Very big area. So i will suggest you to make whole day plan...otherwise you will be tired. But some portion of this botanical garden is not well maintained .... so i gave three star.

The array of flower beds were amazing but i wish the language barriers are taken into consideration especially the tiacket booth and at least the buggy drivers should be able to speak english. And PLEASE becareful of the buggy ride drivers. It's only CNY25 per person to get the buggy ride..we almost got cheated right smack infront of the ticket... More

I really like the section here where they displayed gardens and famous sites from all the provinces in china. It was a great way to get a flavor of all the different provinces in china. They are currently trying to include some amusement park rides here. As for the foreign portions of the expo most of those are gone now... More
