I don't think many people get to this sight in China, but it is worth the visit. Great views and a rich sampling of their history.

Clean, spectacular and you can rent a bike and do a 14km run to see great views of the city. In the morning you will see all around the wall (in the outer part) a lot of people enjoying sports, music and exercise. Also you will hear very relaxing chinese music during all your biking (or walking).

We enjoyed the City Wall and in particular seeing the views, the old weapons, the watch towers, etc. But they would not allow our 7 and 9-year-old boys to ride their own bikes or on the back of tandem bikes with me and my husband. The people who worked there would not tell us or our guide the minimum age... More

Try to find the time to walk the whole way around the city. Or take a bike. We ran out of time, but it looked spectacular.

The Wall around Xian is very impressive and a great way to see much of the town from an elevated perspective. One of the best ways to see all of the wall is to rent a bike. However be warned, the wall is somewhat uneven and as our guide said: "you will have a sore bottom" by the end of... More

We really enjoyed the Xi'an City Wall as we were able to rent bikes and cycle around the wall. At times it was a bumpy ride, but we all enjoyed it. There are areas on the wall to stop at for a beer or a drink. The bike rental locations are all along the wall, so if you don't want... More

Pretty impressive, I decided I will add something like this to my front gate in the future. Worth the stop, to see. Kind of a small site but while your their you might as well.

Well worth the visit and a walk or cycle around. Do it at sunset when it is not as hot, but allow plenty of time to get around. The walk is lit by lights at night which is nice. This is 1 of the last and best preserved city walls in China.

The city wall is pretty impressive in terms of its size and scale, but it is a relatively modern reconstruct dating from 1983. Significant stretches of the wall feature adjacent gaudy commercialisation which probably suits the current setting;-)

Take a bike ride (you can hire a bike) around the city walls, it is truly worth the hour ride to see the city from such a vantage point (the photo opportunities alone are worth it!)
