The Tang Dynasty Dinner Show was good and we enjoyed it very much. If you already have seen Chinese dinner shows around China, then you might want to spend the evening differently though. More

This is an interesting cultural experience, particularly, a wonderfully diverse demonstration of the different chinese dances with the traditional costumes. It also show cases a range of chinese musical instruments including the sorrowful sounding Er-Hu and a piercingly sweet sounding Chinese pipe. The assortment of dumplings was a novelty and there was too much served for the three of us... More

I don't have an appreciation of live performances (never had the desire to see shows in Vegas or New York) so I reluctantly went what I thought was a "tourist trap" with 3 friends and my 9 year old daughter. The experience for the 4 of them was wonderful and for me, surpisingly enjoyable. We booked the dumpling banquet/show combo.... More

There are a number of Tang Dynasty shows in Xi'An - we went to the one at the Sunshine Grand Theatre, which included the dumpling dinner. The total cost was RMB 298. The dumpling dinner included some cold starters, 16 dumplings each, soup, a cup of warm rice wine (looked a bit like soya milk), a cup of a drink... More

We got to see this show on March 19, 2012, as part of our Special Dumpling dinner on our group tour. It was awesome! Great music, dances and costumes. The story was told in both Chinese and English and included subtitles so everyone was able to enjoy it. More

There are few stranger combinations, but this one really works! We went and LOVED it. What a show, what an extravaganza, what dumplings! (Dumplings? Yes, dumplings...). Music, spectacle, song, dance, costumes. Don't miss it! I'd write more, but the pictures say it all. More

We had a great time at the show. The music and the costumes were beautiful. It depends on what you like. If you are going to Beijing for the night life, you are probably not going to like this show. If you like the arts and cultural attractions, you will enjoy it. The food was good, western, cuisine. The meal was... More

The combination of the dumplings and show was a wonderful way to spend the evening. We had the opportunity to sample everything from pork and seafood dumplings to dessert dumplings. The costumes were beautiful and the different musical instruments played were very interesting. More

We were originally looking to go to the less expensive dumpling show in Xian but it was not available so, at the suggestion of our hotel receptionist, we went to the dearer (500Y per person) Tang Dynasty theatre on Changan Rd. This theatre production includes a live Chinese-style orchestra and a vocal choir which accompanies a dancing, acrobatic, and kungfu... More
