I recommend not missing this unique and unforgettable spot of China. Get there as early as you can; target visiting the pits of excavation before the huge crowds arrive. I'd suggest a pic nic in the large park, still inside the gates (can't say if it's allowed or not). Anyway there are many food options right outside the gates -a... More

And to be fair, it didn’t disappoint. We negotiated a taxi from Xi’an for a round trip of 200 Yuan (takes about 50 minutes each way). Entry to the site costs 150 Yuan and it is best to start at pit 3, then on to two before finishing off at the main attraction of pit one. Done the other way... More

This was much more impressive than I had expected. There are several excavation sites where the warriors were exhumed (and more to come). One of the men who originally discovered this was at a table under a sign indicating this. More

Allow yourself a lot of time to take in the entire site...at least 2-3 hours. Comfortable shoes...much walking required. Even the parking area is at least a half mile from the actual site. More

Of course - it's the number one attraction in Xi-An - don't miss it if you are in Xi-An. But if you are not specifically interested in Chinese history I wouldn't suggest to travel to Xi-An just for the Terra-Cotta Warriors. I took the bus 306 for 7RMB from the train station - took about 1 hour. Entrance fee was... More

A few too many sales kiosks for my liking with each person yelling "Hello, Warriors" But that is to be expected in China. The terra-cotta warriors is a must see. You don't go to Xi'an without seeing them. More

We were picked up at the Xi'an train station by our tour guide Clarence Guo. I had booked Clarence after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, some good, some bad. Clarence wasn't there when we arrived at the station and I have to admit I was freaking out for a few minutes BUT while I was wondering what to do a... More
