Visiting the army of terracota warriors was quite a surreal experience, after hearing/reading so much about them. It is definitley an awesome site when you walk into the first exhibition hall and are faced with thousands of lifeless statues. It was amazing walking around and seeing how each one is individual and the little details such as their hairstyles and... more

We just finished our one and a half day Xi'an tour and we enjoyed it immensely. The Terracotta Warriors were absolutely amazing - truly an eighth wonder of the world - and the reason for us taking this tour. We also visited the Big Goose Pagoda and the Grand Mosque and these were fascinating and added to the enjoyment of... more

Must see attraction. There's a 360 degree cinema that introduce Qinshihuang and the terra-cotta warriors, a museum to display the artifacts and chart the development of the museum, and 3 pits where the excavated warriors, horses and weapons are displayed. A bit dark in the pits, so bring a good camera, or risk dark pictures. There are some warriors displayed... more

I'm writing this review to help those who are considering visting the terracotta army site on their own. My partner and I travelled last month to China and ended up going there by local bus. The reason was because we felt hassled by the staff in our hotel who offered us only transport to get there for 500RMB (but came... more

I highly recommend a visit to the Terracotta Warriors - and if you want to save some yuan on rental of the audio guide, don't ask for the English one for 40 yuan. Ask for the Mandarin audio guide - it costs only 10 yuan, and if you play around with the buttons on it for a few minutes you... more

The drive out to the Terra Cotta Warrior site from our hotel near the south gate of the Xian city wall took a little bit less than an hour. When we arrived there we found that there was a short walk (about 5-10 minutes) from the parking lot where we had been dropped off to the entrance gate. On the... more

We wanted to see the Terra Cotta Warriors but the packages all seemed to be very expensive. We wanted to take the bus, some people say it is very easy to find, it wasn't to us. We only had one day in the area, so we needed to get there. Eventually, we encountered David fromTourist Information Center Xian. Although the van... more

My name is Kristin and I recently went on an 11 day trip to Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai. I traveled with Explorica, an educational travel company, for which I work (www.explorica.com). Our tour included all activities, meals, hotels, excursions and our itinerary was packed! It was a great experience because I got to experience so much in the short time... more

No matter how many photos of this one sees, one will be blown away at the sheer scale of it all. The place is amazing and the warriors are utterly fascinating - even mesmerizing. Our guide was excellent (as was his english) and explained loads of things to us during our two plus hour tour of the site. He approached... more
