We planned our trip to Xian specifically to see the warriors, it's worth a see, as it is one of the wonders of the world, and does leave you thinking 'Wow'. My one tip is - take a driving licence and show them at the student discount booth, no matter your age, as long as they see photo id, they... more

I did take the public bus. It was easy, cheap, and comfortable. The only thing different that I would add from previous bus comments is that there is no ticket booth from which to purchase tickets. I wasted 15 minutes walking around the train station looking for a bus ticket booth. You simply get on the 306 bus and a... more

This is quite an attraction to see if you're ever in Xian. They were discovered by a farmer in the mid 1970s who was drilling for water. Now he is in the museum signing books. There are over 8,000 of these warrious plus chariots and horses in 3 separate pits. They stand about 6 feet tall and are over 2,000... more

There is much hype thus a tendency to be a tad disappointed. However, it is worth the travel time to get there. I took the 25 hour train from Guangzhou to Xian. To get to the site take bus 306 from the bus station at the train station. When I was there tickets were being sold for that bus from... more

If you do not want to do an all day tour, take the public bus from the rail station. I think the bus number was either 301 or 309 or 306 (sorry I can't remember). When you face the rail station, right outside the city wall, go to the far right. You should see a sign with a picture of... more

The Terra Cotta Warriors site is bombarded by throngs of tourists - up to 40,000 people a day visit this site. There are tour buses galore, people ramming you out of the way to get a little better photo, souvenir hawkers everywhere, and so many people at times that you feel claustrophobic. But, there is a reason for all of... more

We specifically visited Xi’an with the intention of seeing the Terracotta Warriors, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We arranged a day tour through the hotel. We drove for around 30 minutes from the hotel to the site of the Terracotta Warriors. Our guide lead us from the parking area, through the various entrances, to pit number 1 where we got... more

Visiting the army of terracota warriors was quite a surreal experience, after hearing/reading so much about them. It is definitley an awesome site when you walk into the first exhibition hall and are faced with thousands of lifeless statues. It was amazing walking around and seeing how each one is individual and the little details such as their hairstyles and... more

We just finished our one and a half day Xi'an tour and we enjoyed it immensely. The Terracotta Warriors were absolutely amazing - truly an eighth wonder of the world - and the reason for us taking this tour. We also visited the Big Goose Pagoda and the Grand Mosque and these were fascinating and added to the enjoyment of... more

Must see attraction. There's a 360 degree cinema that introduce Qinshihuang and the terra-cotta warriors, a museum to display the artifacts and chart the development of the museum, and 3 pits where the excavated warriors, horses and weapons are displayed. A bit dark in the pits, so bring a good camera, or risk dark pictures. There are some warriors displayed... more
