Just walk around this Drum Tower Square, you will find many ancient things and unique buildings around. Beautiful flowers and plants. Lots of photos can be taken. Can do some shopping if you want. There is a information centre where you can make inquiry or book your tour to other part of Xian.

Make sure you get here at night with all the lights and people everywhere along with all sorts of vendors, restaurants shops etc. The area is just up from the Muslim quarters a place that must be experienced while there but again at night.

The best thing on that square was the tourist Information, their English is quite good, but the maps they give are quite appalling. There is as well, 30 m to the left when facing the tourist office, a train ticket agent. Beware that they close for lunch. There can be very long queues. The commission is very small. As they... While the place isn't particularly interesting in the daytime, things changes a lot at night. People flying kites, street vendors everywhere, lots of restaurants. Be sure to check the Muslim quarter right behind it.

Very close to the Drum Tower is a street which is full of local vendors selling food and local shops, and the whole street is absolutely buzzing! Really fascinating street which takes around 30/45 mins to walk through. It's very very busy, and packed with things to see, smell and sample. There are also lots of local cuisine restaurants here... Loved the Drum Tower in the night. It looks so beautiful when litted up. The building looks magnificent and tranquil. We didn't go into the Drum Tower but I liked the surrounding areas around the Drum Tower. There is a park beside it. At 9pm plus you can still find lots of activities in the park. Youngsters dancing, adults and... More

While the Xian Drum Tower may have the largest drum in China, the whole thing left us under whelmed. For only CNY70 for two (AUD 12 or USD 11) I guess you get what you pay for. It is much more impressive at night - from the outside. It is right next to the Muslim quarter which is lively and... More
