I traveled the lake at night when I stayed in the nearby hotel. Nothing special except some spotting lights. I traveled it again during the day time by taking the boating journey. Nothing special except there were two towers.

The boat takes you under several bridges (replicas of world famous bridges) on all four lakes. There is a little dance show at the far end, then you return. The bridges are all lit up, as are the pagodas. It's really very beautiful. There were men demonstrating using cormorants for fishing. Great photo ops! Be careful around the boat launch... More

Not a lot of vantage points, but it's definitely worth seeing. We liked it better at night when it was lit up.

Beautiful sight at sunset. Might think about having dinner earlier, or later, because might be a problem if to late

I could have spent all day in the park. Happy place, happy people doing their dancing and tai chi moves.

The city of Guilin was a nice discovery. Great trails all around the lakes, beautiful gardens, pagodas, nice pavilions, statues, benches in different animal shapes, everything is nice and restful to the eyes. Reproductions of multiple renowned bridges crossing the river add to the magic. At night everything is illuminated. You can see people dancing, playing musical instruments and singing... More

There are great walks around the lake and rivers. The lighting at night is beautiful and the pagodas have great reflections in the still waters. A number of spots have the locals exercising or even ballroom dancing. Great place.
