We walked the area with our friend from Guilin, so we had a beautiful leisurely walk around the lake. We came upon the two pagodas during the early evening, so it was nice to see them lit up. Did not pay to see them close. Beautiful area for a walk.

I say it is a poor place to visit not because of the views, the views are great but not the entrance ticket. 50RMB for one entry...come on it is just two pagodas with not much history to tell! It is nicer to photo at the pagodas from the bridge, not worthwhile to get to the top. Absolutely no need... More

The Sun and Moon Pagodas look amazing when they are all lit up at night. The park around the lake is quite small with a few bench seats, but the lake is huge. The reflections of the colourful ligh ts in the water look amazing. It is a pleasant walk around the lake, notmuch to do otherwise

Did the wander around the pond today and saw the twin pagodas from about every angle possible. If you are looking at killing some time in town do it, otherwise you could have a massage for 40 yuan that would kill the same hour.

The pagodas are trully spectacular, but are set in quite a small park, in which there are just few benches and rocks on which you can sit and enjoy the view. However there isn't much space to rest and relax. We found that you get just as good a vewi from across the water outside the waterfront hotel. Initially just... More

These a very picturesque pagodas. It's free to take in the view from the other side of the lake. We also paid 10RMB for a cheesy photo of the two of us which was then printed and laminated on the spot. A quirky Chinese souvenir of Guilin.

The pagodas are trully beautiful, but the park around it is quite small, there isn't much space to rest and relax. There are just few benches and rocks on which you can sit and enjoy the view ( we did so for almost 2 hours :). Get ready for loads of other tourists (especially big tour groups) I don't know... To be fair, they're exceptionally beautiful. I came for the Sun Pagoda, and stayed for the Moon Pagoda. I even returned that evening to see them lit up (which was definitely worth it!). But the park itself is lackluster, and considering that it conjoins with the Central City Square makes it even more so. Vendors trying to sell you drinks,... More
