It's a bridge that you will have to take at moment to visit attractions from one side of river to the other. Otherwise as said several times, it's just a bridge that crosses a river in a town.

A walk on the bridge takes less than 20 minutes to cross the Li River and offers nice views of the river, Elephant Trunk Hill from afar and daily life of ordinary people. When I used to work in downtown, I crossed the bridge everyday in the morning and in the evening, both great time to watch people swim or... More

I dont know how it became an attraction, because it is just an ordinary bridge. May be you can see the elephant hill from this bridge. other than that, there is nothing special.

A nice plate to visit to get some pictures but there are countless other places to get better shots. If touring Guilin you are bound to cross over this bridge at some point. Beneath the bridge is a really nice BBQ(Shaokao) place that brews their own beer. Its on the side opposite downtown.

This bridge traverses the Lijiang River, nothing special other than its rather long and in a very scenic spot with a bucket load of traffic going over it all day and night. Worth walking around this area day, night or sunset as it's pretty but it still has a few grungey spots.

Jiefang Bridge is the most important entrance in the east of Guilin, hundred years ago it was the only way in the east. Pass the bridge is the city center, people driving, biking or walking through this bridge for work, shopping every day. There are two famous hills we can see from the bridge: Elephant Trunk Hill and Fubo hill,... More

As Xue Q said, "It's a Bridge." Nothing remarkable about the bridge itself, but if you have spare time in Guilin it is worth walking across. The scenery is very nice and a good place to take some pictures of the river, boats and watching the locals. Rather chilly in the winter as the wind always seems to be blowing.

Maybe I'm not clued-in on all this but...it's a bridge. The architecture isn't spectacular, though the surrounding scenery is lovely on the rare non-smoggy day. It's quite short, and is fairly easy to walk over. How does this even register as a "sight" in Guilin?!

Like many other Liberation Bridges all over China, the bridge is in memory of liberation of the People's Republic of China. There is a dork where u can embark a boat to visit 2Rivers & 4Lakes near the bridge,a large snowwhite and bloodred ad board side above the bridge, six bronze running horses statue side below the bridge。。。 Let me see, what's more?... I cross this bridge on a regular basis maybe every 2 days and the views of the surrounding landscape are excellent. A great place for photographs no matter what the weather with big skies and great scenery. You will always see people swimming, fishing and bamboo rafting along the river below. Be wary of the cake sellers at each end... More
