The cable car up to the mountain was exciting but going down on the luge track was even more thrilling

We added this to our guided tour on Guilin instead of going to the art gallery. It was well worth the extra money we paid. We were there in January - off season - so had the place to ourselves - no queues, no waits, teenager went straight on the luge. Fantastic views and enjoyable cable car ride. Even the... More

When we visited in December (off peak) we were lucky that there was no queues. The cable car was really smooth and enjoyable. The view was awesome and being a clear day we could see for miles. The temple was impressive and we bought a ribbon and wrote our names + children's to ensure prosperity and a healthy life, and... More

We felt like being robbed on our GuiLin city tour. To hire the taxi and the driver whole day is 50RMB. This we find cheap so we hired him right away. The next day, our supposed hired taxi driver / tour guide did not show up. A different guy showed up to drive us around. The first spot was okay.... More

This is a great place for a top-down view of Guilin's Karst formations. The chairlift ride is pretty cool and the tobbogan option on the way down is something fun and safe to do! For Chinese visitors, you can also check out origins of your surnames at the top. At the exit, there is the usual cluster of touristy souvenirs/cakes... More

We took a cab from Guilin town centre to the resort for about 80 Yuan including waiting time. Like most other scenic entry attractions in China, the entry prices were inflated to cater for the 'cashed- up' the foreigners, this was no exception! There was not a big queue for tickets and the cab driver helped us out with the... More

We visited in November, and took a taxi from of the city centre. How do you say this? The view was wonderful however if there had not been so much mist/cloud it would have been "awesome"! I see that its termed as a "resort", this is incorrect. It's a chairlift up a mountain on the outskirts of Guilin and is... More

Not a resort, this is a lovely, peaceful chairlift ride up a gentle mountain near Guilin. Sadly, heavy clouds moved in on this our last day in Guilin, so we missed the sometimes fab views from the mountain of the Karst formations... would have given 5 stars with good weather. Our guide (very good English/very friendly) suggested combining this trip... More

Now that the cable rope allows you to ascend Mt. Yao (Yaoshan) in minutes, it is hard not to recommend this trip. The view from the top is unique (and I mean unique--there is no comparable view of Karst Mountain scenery on any continent in any country) and this is what you flew thousands of miles to see in Guilin.... Like a previous review said, I'm sure it would be amazing up and around Yao mountain if you could see anything. The haze was very strong when we were there and you honestly could not see anything. On a brighter note, we did enjoy the chairlift ride up - it's airy, long and the scent of the forest is beautiful.... More
