If you have limited time to do sightseeing, then this place should be on the list. Well maintained old temple, beuatifull decorated. Inside you can see how the lived in ancient times, but there are also some exhibitions on local crafts. There are also some souvenirshops where you can buy all the typical chinese souvenirs you want.

All things there are amazing. You walk through all the rooms and there are exhibitions of what they did and still do since ancient times...the bone carving section was mesmerizing but the silk embroidery was so artistry I just have to close my eyes and look away of envy. In the backyard there is a garden so peaceful you wish... More

On our last day we spent a couple of hours wandering the temple before heading to the airport. Right by the subway it is a very peaceful and relaxing place to explore.

An amazing place to go and see the history of Guangzhou. The buildings with all the old carvings, and the talent of the people, wood, bone etc. carvings. You can also buy a lot of the traditional crafts from here.

While the ornate decorations and grand architecture is beyond my expectations, I was blown away by the display of folk art pieces. Because most South East Asian chinese originated from this part of China, I saw similar temple cravings and lost crafts here. The most impressive being the ivory art pieces which are as gorgeous as the collections in Taipei's... More

You can enrich your understanding of the Chen Dynasty when you visit this historical excavation. Also housed in the complex is a museum a restaurant, and a gift shop. Street food is available outside.

Personally I found it just about okay not as tranquil as some other Buddhist establishments and maybe a little commercial and ritualistic. Nevertheless it is quite popular, either ways do check it out.

Great for people who are into a bit of history and the arts. Loads of different rooms and displays showing all the different art forms, and the English translations on the info boards are refreshingly good. Lovely green area to sit and relax at the back, the shop isn't as overpriced as one would expect and the building itself has... More
