Since it was through a terrorist attack a few years ago, the security to enter this place is like the one at an airport. I didn't go in all the way so I only got to see the entrance and it seems like a beautiful building inside. There is a beautiful fountain outside with statues of children playing.

This a very Soviet railway station but in a good way. The architecture is very Stalinist, but also in a good way. There aren't too many trains but if you are not familiar with the Russian train experience then it's worthwhile coming here just for the sight.

Love a great city station that has style and functionality. Building has that Soviet era feel to it. Airport security check literally as you go in. Nice and clean and nice fountain outside.

Security check from entrance as in airport. There was an explosion, but now very peaceful. We came here days ago by airplane, but we wanted to see this station. Ceiling is high and decorated with pictures of war. Chairs are comfortable to sit. Many ticket windows and ticket machines. Looks convenient station.

Very user friendly train station after a long train ride from Moscow. The station is also close to the city centre

The building from the outside is beautiful and worth a walk past. I did not go inside as I didn't have the time, plus there was a heavy security presence.

e arrived at the beautiful Volgagrad Station to be met by our guide. Unfortunately we didn't get to see inside as it was closed for repair following the bombing. The locals seem to have taken the whole thing very personally and were relieved the central ceiling mural had not been damaged. It will be well worth a visit when repaired.

Though with a feel of smaller stations still very interesting to look at, especially from the inside. Very interesting decorations and paintings worth having a stop to take a photo on your way to the town. Some of the parts were closed when we were there and we were ushered through an alternative exit.

This is where you catch the train to go back to Moscow or wherever you are going to. It has been completely rebuilt in Stalin's neo-classic style with the usual heroic statues and friezes depicting scenes in the Battle and the usual workers and peasants etc etc. But what do you expect ??? The fighting was so intense here, the... More

Trains, Trains, Trains. You are definitely in a different world here and I loved it. See as much as you can in Volgograd. I highly recommend a guided tour.
