The Kremlin opens out into a very big space with old WW2 millitary hardware on show including a couple of T34 tanks, a Katushya rocket launcher and subamrine conning tower. The museum was good although ramparts closed until the weather improves, very atmospheric especially in the snow!!

NN Kremlin used to serve as a real military fort, unlike Moscow Kremlin that was only a decoration.
The walk on the wall is a must. Just imagine: these stones are over 500 years old!.. Well, at least many of them :-)

The view on the Volga from the Kremlin is great ! At sunset it's unbelievable. The buildings in the Kremlin are pretty, the walk is nice, in the weekends you can see brides and grooms having their picture taken. It's a really nice place to think, relax (when it's not too cold...) and an amazing history.
