It is University with the rich history and culture not in Russia, but in ex-soviet states. But unfortunately it's current condition is very poor. It really needs restoration. The famous library needs more space. The current place where all the ancient books, manuscripts are kept is humid, that affects books condition.

If you are from Europe/U.S., this would be one of the most average universities you've seen. Even in Russia, Moscow State University is significantly more beautiful. Of course, it is interesting to see it just to compare, but nothing more. Also, they don't let you inside (probably because there is nothing to see).
