I must admit that some of the cakes look good. I was interested in finding black cavier, we did- the smallest tin was 5000ru (about 100usd). The retired american lady next to me ordered a large tin without a worry in the world and enquired if she would need to put it on ice for her trip back to the... More

The shop is a magnificent art nouveau building which is worth seeing itself. It's a place where you can buy red and black caviar, cheese, local sweets, pastry. In the centre there are tables where you can have coffee and relax, enjoying piano music.

It's located on Nevsky avenue. You could find there all kind of food you want. But it's also XIX century architecture monument.

A visit to this shop was one of the highlights of our two days in St. Petersburg, but frustrating! As a cruise ship passenger, there would be little opportunity to take home many of the delectables displayed, such as French pastries, cheese etc. The food emporium occupies just one small floor of a striking five floor Art Nouveau building dating... I have visited Yeliseev's (or Jelisejev as I know it in Finnish) several times during the last year. It is something very special, and I believe that my shared photos will inform why. Yes, it is a food store but used to drink excellent coffee there with very nice cakes or cookies. Decoration of store is awesome, and everything has... More

The building of Yeliseevs is one of finest examples of Liberty/Art Nouveau style ever. It is located at the intersection The shop front is fantastic and inside is a treasure trove of fine foods from all over the world, presented in a way to compete with the hallowed food halls of Harrods! It is worth dropping in and having anyone... More

First night we arrived in St. Petersburg and passed by this building, I was so impressed with the architecture, I didn't even realize it was a food store. The next day on our way back from the Hermitage, we walked in. Wow! Even after just having seen the Hermitage, I was impressed. All the food and sweets looked so beautiful,... More

At first I was attracted by the models in the window, but didn't really see the need to go inside, but I am so glad that I did. It was like taking a trip back one hundred years. Personally, it was a highlight for me as I felt like I had been transported back to pre-revolutionary Petersburg. At night, it... More
