I have visited Yeliseev's (or Jelisejev as I know it in Finnish) several times during the last year. It is something very special, and I believe that my shared photos will inform why. Yes, it is a food store but used to drink excellent coffee there with very nice cakes or cookies. Decoration of store is awesome, and everything has... More

The building of Yeliseevs is one of finest examples of Liberty/Art Nouveau style ever. It is located at the intersection The shop front is fantastic and inside is a treasure trove of fine foods from all over the world, presented in a way to compete with the hallowed food halls of Harrods! It is worth dropping in and having anyone... More

First night we arrived in St. Petersburg and passed by this building, I was so impressed with the architecture, I didn't even realize it was a food store. The next day on our way back from the Hermitage, we walked in. Wow! Even after just having seen the Hermitage, I was impressed. All the food and sweets looked so beautiful,... More

Looks like you are in the movie of Charlie and the chocolatefactory! Already Great to go inside to have a look. We also had hot cocoa which is the best i ever had! A bit expensive but worth it!

At first I was attracted by the models in the window, but didn't really see the need to go inside, but I am so glad that I did. It was like taking a trip back one hundred years. Personally, it was a highlight for me as I felt like I had been transported back to pre-revolutionary Petersburg. At night, it... More

A must visit in Saint Petersburg for some quick sweets. Also have a restaurant downstairs. Art nouveau is beautiful in the building .

If you are staying anywhere around Nevsky Prospekt you are likely to pass this place numerous times and they seem quite happy for people to pop in, browse and take photos. It's an iconic place of olde world charm with tables to eat in, or take away. My wife and daughter each enjoyed their muffins.

This store is not only magnificent in terms of architecture, window displays, and decor but also has an excellent selection of upscale foods from caviar, to pastries, to chocolate, to live oysters. The only place that I can think of that might be comparable from a food perspective would be Harrods Food Hall; but this place is far more interesting.... More

This store has undergone a major restoration to restore it to its former glory and reopened to the public in 2012. The Food Hall preserves the original 7 departments and carries French pastry, bakery, charcuterie, smoked salmon, caviar, wine&spirits, teas, coffee and candy. The shop is just beautiful with gilded ceilings, glitzy chandelier and many original features from its golden... More

Located right in the middle of Nevsky prospekt, this place is a must visit in my opinion. We popped in for coffee and a cake, which was very nice but you can buy lots of different things to eat in or take away. All of which looks brilliant! Pretty expensive, but worth it just to take in your surroundings. A... More
