The building across the street is the Old Stock Exchange and it is Neptune on the roof, symbolising Maritime importance for St Petersburg. The Rostral Columns have figures to symbolising four major Russian rivers (Dnieper, Neva, Volga and Volkhov), two in each. On rare occasions, a fire is lit on the top of them.

It's one of the most romantic place in Saint Petersburg. A lot of new-married couples visit this place and break a bottle of champaign for happiness (Russian tradition). What is more, you have a wonderful view from this place on the both banks of the river Neva - you can see remarkable Peter and Paul Fortress on your left and... More

Its a nice Arch shaped walk near the Greek Revival Landmark. There is an adjacent beautiful Park as well where lot of newly wedded couple come for Photo Sessions. The couple also walks on the river side where traditionally they are supposed to drink Champagne

This place looks very local and informal although it's one of the main things to see in St petersburg and it's great! We saw a couple of marriage ceremonies there with brides in big white dresses and people drinking Champaign in the day time! That was funny and very nice. And of cause the view is lovely! Definitely recommended!

The memorial itself is just the cherry on the top. In the crescent shaped area you can look North to the old Stock Exchange or South to Panoramic views of SPB easily picking out the Church of Spilled Blood. the Hermitage and St Isaac's.

This scenic look-off gives you a really nice panorama of St. Petersburg, from across the water. Many of the main city sites are there, waiting for your photo opp. Don't believe me? When we were there (for just a 20 minute stop), three different wedding parties stopped by to have their photos taken there, with the lovely background. If the... More

The city of St. Petersburg is huge! It is hard to get a good perspective. The point is a nice easy way to see the Hermitage, Peter and Paul, bridges, etc. Nice walk across the bridge from the Heritage.

Enjoy the Neva River and have a different way to see the city, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the towers of the churches, the colossal winter palace and the both Kronstadt lightcolumns.
