My fiance and myself walked to this wonderful ship in the snow of Saint Petersburg. It was definitely worth it but unfortunately we couldn`t go aboard. There were many people waiting to go onboard and we would have had to wait awhile in the cold so we had a coffee instead, a bit difficult to get to if you don`t... More

We walked a few miles to see the Aurora, but once there we were told that only groups of ten to fifteen were allowed to enter. We had to pay to go on a guided tour. The tour was in Russian so we wandered off on our own. It was very interesting and definitely worth doing if you have an interest in history More

I confess it was not a must for me , but visiting Cruiser Aurora was better than I could expect. It is a free attraction and very pleasant. There were romantic russian musics playing there all the time and sailors posing for photos. More

There's not that many historical Russian ships that you can see and visit (mostly they are WWII and Cold War-era submarines), and Aurora is definitely number one amongst them. This historic battleship is renowned for firing the signal blank shot to start the Communist Revolution of 1917. She was launched at the Admiralty shipyards in 1900, and saw action during the Russian-Japanese War. She was one of the few Russian battleships to survive the Tsushima battle in 1905. She was later used as a training ship, and is now... More
