Shopping wise Gostiny Dvor is nothing special : The shops inside do not present anything you wouldn't find in any shopping mall worldwide, BUT THE ARCHITECURE is definitely worth a visit ! The building is 1000 Mters long ! Don't visit the shops inside, but go upstairs and walk the arcades !. Since upstairs there are no entrances to the... More

A magnificent huge old building in the grand old style of Tsarist Russia. This shopping market has been in operation for something like 300 years! Lots of little shops selling all manner of wares. There are markets elsewhere that sell souvenirs cheaper but the quality at Gostiny Dvor we thought was better than some of the market stalls. You can... More

This ‘shopping arcade’ is big with lovely long corridors surrounding the outside of the building. The inside has been modernised somewhat. Worth a visit and walk around if only to feel the grandeur of old Russia!

An aged old structure with small shops inside, selling common souvenirs and stuff. Price is fair and slightly on the high side, but then it is understandable since it is so conveniently located on the main road next to its metro station. Worth to take a few pictures, but that's about it.

We spent a few hours here waiting for a tour to leave for Peterhof. It is truly a maze of stores. The first floor had some souvenirs of good quality with equitable prices. I enjoyed looking at all the shoes and my husband purchased a wool hat. A good place to stop if you have some time to kill.

Visited St Petersburg in September 2013 for a 4 night stay. Walked the Nevsky Prospekt road and all of its many attractions and found this humungous shopping center when the heavens opened and it was not just cold but also wet! What I loved about the buildings both in Moscow and St Petersburg is that you really don't know what... More

Gostiny Dvor is one of the oldest "malls" in the world. I always stop at the souvenir store on the first level. The housewares and linens section is an amazing selection of beautiful things made in Russia. It's one of the nicest places to get wooden items for the kitchen. They also have a nice bookstore / paper store. Its... More

Located on Nevsky Prospekt and metro station right next to it, so this is almost a must, if you want to shop something. Place is huge and you can find everything from souvenirs to upscale furs and clothes. Great selection porcelain and "artsy" stuff to your home too.

We really didn't enjoy this shop. It felt sterile, unfriendly, soulless and ugly. After walking around for a short period of time we just left. It's nothing exciting and I wouldn't recommend visiting, even if you are passing.

A lot of souvenirs can be purchased at this shopping center (it's not exactly a mall in the American sense) and there is a good fur shop on the second floor with high quality hats, coats and other accessories at reasonable prices.
