A very Macho sculpture. I loved this very much a took several photos.

Go find the Bronze Horseman and try to get a perfect pic....it is harder than it looks. The Horseman is in a great location in a park and it is pretty quiet in the morning.

Lovely monument - easy to find and a good sculpture - this is free and as with the rest of our expedition, well worth the time to visit.

This is one of the sights in Spb. The tourist bus will drive you past this place and you can pop out and walk around te square and check out the sculpture. Contains a history behind itself, which you will hear on the tourist bus.

Great piece in interesting location. Don't think I would have gone out of my way to see it though but walked passed it each time I ventured out.

We had an experienced guide who explained the nuance of the various ways which Peter the Great is depicted. But the most interesting part of the monument is the massive Thunder Stone upon which the sculpture sits. It was 1,500 tons and was moved from Finland to its current spot by humans only - no animals. This statue was the central location for me and my travel companion because our hotel was only a 5 minute walk away. When the site is covered in snow it is amazing to walk around the surrounding park.
