Amazing Stutue on a Solid Block of Marble

A terrific monument to Peter that is centered on one of the busiest intersections in the city. Everyone passes by and a few manage to study this monument to a tsar and Romanov.

Nothing much to see in a monument which is another one of the many you see in this wonderful city. I would say its nice but not really worth a special visit.

I would echo many of the reviews already written about this attraction. If in St Petersburg, it must be on your itinerary. Spectacular statue in amazing condition. Within easy walking distance of all the other main central attractions. Take some time to view the statue from various angles to get a true idea of the beauty of it.

This is a very unique statue of Peter The Great, who founded the city. It survived the siege of the city during WW2. It is a must-see.

It's a really nice place in the centre of St. Petersberg with very green park, roads to walk and benches to have rest. Very close to Admiralteystvo and reconstructed Saint Isaac's Cathedral.

This Monument of Peter I is a reminder of the war between Russia and Sweden. He points towards Sweden and as a connection, there is a similar monument in Stockholm pointing towards Russia. It may look like a simple monument but if you slow down your pace and learn about the history, there is so much underlying this bronze horseman.... More

Copper Horseman is a monument to Peter I on the Senate Square. The presentation of the finished monument was held on 7 August, 1782. It is the first monument in St. Petersburg. Later, the monument was named after the famous poem of the same name by Pushkin, but in fact is made of bronze. It belongs to the main symbols... More

Essential - you need to see! The horseman is the symbol of Russia. Easy to find, right beside St. Isaac's Cathedral. I saw it on a cold March morning - it was stunning - a feeling of real history. Don't leave St. Pete without a visit!

Very nice statue of the founder of St. Petersburg--Peter the Great. Right in the middle of the city near the river, so it is worth having a look.
