It's a major presence in the city, and when you step inside you really can't take in all there is to see. Give yourself time to just stand and appreciate the beauty, wander through (amid the throngs of tourists), and appreciate its restoration. Hugs crows outside are a breeding ground for pickpockets, so keep valuable in a money belt or... More

This building is so amazingly opulent it has to be seen to the true. Sited next to a canal in the centre of the city it is in close proximity to the winter palace and the summer gardens

Beautiful architecture with the whole history engraved on. A unique master piece. Early morning entrance is cheaper that evening.

. Although it resembles St, Basil's of Moscow from the outside, it is very different on the inside. It has been renovated to perfection and is indeed very beautiful.

My children especially liked the crypts of the royal family, including Anastasia. The Russian Orthodox church is so ornate and the mosaics were unbelievable. We were on a paid, provate, guided tour, so we do not know about admission fees.

This is a place not to be missed. Even if you're not interested in religious art, the mosaics inside are real gems. And the story behind its construction is also amazing.

What an eclectic mix of styles and colors. The church is amazing from the outside with its multi-colored domes sitting atop a very different architecture to the rest on view in St Petersburg. Your eyes will always be drawn upwards to the vast mosaic patterns across the ceilings and paintings in the highest points of the domes. A must see... More

We visited The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood with an organised tour provided by a cruise company. We were lucky as there wasn’t a big queue to get in, however once inside it was quite full. Even though it was busy with tourists the beauty of the Church was amazing. Inside there is a section of original cobbled... More

Slightly off the beaten track but worth visiting - although being renovated at the moment so there is a lot of scaffolding outside. (Aug '15). The walk up to the top of the bell tower is long - worthwhile for great views as long as you don't suffer from Vertigo - the final section is up narrow metal stairs and... More
