Excellent example of Russian Orthodox architecture in St Petersburg. Beautiful outside, hope for a clear blue sky (doesn't happen often) which really brings out the colors of the domes and stone. Pretty inside. Worth your time.

Not too many decorations inside, icons painted on walls, otherwise a normal orthodox church with counters selling candles, souvenirs etc.

Even though we were not able to go inside, just by simply looking at the architecture was more than enough! Lovely experience!

I almost skipped the interior of this because it was our last day and they were closing in an hour. I AM SO GLAD WE DIDN'T. The inside was one of the most breathtaking things I've ever seen. Go. (and go inside!)

Everything they say about it is true - breath-taking, fabulous, need couple more hours in there when you realize it's time to leave!

A story of assassination, dedication, neglect, pillage and restoration. See it from Nevskiy Prospekt to appreciate the domes then drop in to enjoy the icons and murals.

This is a must-see in Saint Petersburg. The outside is the real attraction, in this writer's opinion. It is simply amazing. If you can, walk all the way around the outside, as there is no charge for doing that. There is a fee for going inside, which is OK, but not as good as the outside.

This is likely the most beautiful interior of a religious building I have ever seen anywhere so far.
