It's not as old as one would think, but well built and restored after the Communists trashed it in the 20th century

Having visited hundreds of cathedrals in Europe I have become very selfie on what I will walk into. This church is at a historical sight of significance as a famous assassination supposedly occurred at the site. As you read Russian history you will be pleased that you stood on this church floor

Breathtakingly beautiful outside and inside, and to top it off there were five tenors singing inside the church which made it even more magical.

The interior of the church is even more interesting than the famous multi-colored exterior spires of the church.

It was a very old elegant church. And there were worships going on there. Interiors is exquisite and atmosphere was great!

Words can really not describe this magnificent church. Both inside and out it was just wonderful and so colourful too. We were lucky as we were able to spend quite a good amount of time there.

Just a short walk from the Nevsky Propect along the canal. Landmark photos of the exterior and many interesting things to see inside including the shrine at the spot where Alexander II was slain and fantastic mosaics
