On any trip to Europe it is easy to "OD" on churches, palaces, etc. Forget all of that and do not miss this Church. We've been to a LOT of churches and this is one of the top 5 we've every seen. Absolutely outstanding. The outside of the Church is beautiful but is nothing compared to the fabulous mosaic work... More

Very beautiful and colourful building set alongside the canal and some lovely gardens. Tucked away just off Nevsky Prospekt, a great place to relax and admire the architecture with a coffee.

This takes your breath away. Beautifully coloured domes top tall spires that glisten in the sun fab.

Great architecture and well worth taking time to wander around and wonder at the beauty and history of this amazing church. Not on the scale of the Hermitage but still one of the places to put on your must visit list when in town !

As so much is in St Petersburg, this is a must see. Sadly some of the priceless artefacts are missing following differing conflicts, however, beautiful nonetheless

This is a truly beautiful church which is now a museum and no longer used for services. It is incredibly beautiful with every inch covered paintings and gold relief. Well worth taking time to enter to see it. Take note of the canopy on the right once inside as this marks the spot Tsar Alexander was assassinated. The outside of... More

Amazing, we entered the square from the park, and it was a very nice approach. The building is stunning, a little smaller than it appears in the pictures, but that doesnt matter. We went inside and even if the place was crowded with tourists it was easy to see the amazing mosaics and alter. They have a little display on... More

Yes, there's hype, yes, there are long lines and tacky souvenirs . . . and yes, this is one of the greatest memorials to man's love of the eternal that I've ever seen (and I've been to Florence) . . . with a distinctly Russian twist. Worth seeing with a guide, or after reading /researching because the details are extraordinary.... More
