I agree with all the other reveiwers this church is really worth a visit - it is as impressive inside with it's fabulous mosaics as it is outside with its lovely coloured onion domes. The correct ttile is the Cathedral of the Resurrection although it is known locally as The Chruch of Our Saviour on the Spilled Blood. This name... more

I imagine a lot of people walking along Nvskiy Prospekt stop and look at this breathtaking church, perched along the banks of a canal and think that it is quite something. But only if you go inside will you appreciate what a true masterpiece it is. Easily the best church in St. Petersburg in my opinion. The mosaics are fabulous. more
This church is really beautiful. On the outside it looks amazing enough, but inside it is beautiful It is covered with mosaics! Our visit to Russia would not have been complete without a visit to a mosaic-filled, onion-domed church. And this was a splendid example. Inside every square inch was filled with brightly colored mosiac tiles and paintings. Outside the multi-colored onion-domed towers soared upward. A truly breathtaking building. A must see in St. Petersburg. more
