This is a touristy but fun immersion into Russian dance, music and singing. Great for kids, but get there early and sit in the front.

As a folk show, I expected it to be cheesy and cheap, but it's the opposite of that. These aren't just dancers and singers, they're very good actors as well. It's very engaging with a lot of audience participation. I've seen it twice, and I'm always impressed with their talent and literally crying laughing...although that could have something to do... Excellent standard of entertainment - traditional costumes, national songs and dances, gifted musicians - a brilliant way in which to unwind after an exhausting day visiting all the wonderful palaces, museums, churches etc. A fun evening with champagne, canapés and gift shopping in the interval!

We ordered tickets online and they were delivered by hand to our hotel in a couple of hours. You cannot download your tickets from the website apparently. A point to note is that non-Russians are charged an extra 1,000 Rubles, so we paid 4,900 Rubles each (approx. £49pp). This was cheaper than buying on the door at the theatre, but... More

The way to to go to performances is to have an escort in St. Petersburg. We found Misha online at the Folk Show "Feel Russian with Snack Bar and optional Vodka Tasting Experience at the Vodka Museum on September 30,2015. Our escort guide was prompt, punctual, friendly and spoke perfect English. Misha left the tickets at the reception of Domina... More

I am very glad we attended this concert. Entertainment actually began with string quartet in the lobby 45 minutes before the start of the show. There are no numbered seats, so you definitely need to arrive early. If you take a seat in the first couple of rows, though, prepare to be dragged on stage by a couple of the... More

nikolayesky palace itself is worth the visit, and the performance as well. it's a chance to visit the palace, explore the beautyful interiors, have a drink and some snack. and then one can enjoy a wonderful show. very touristical. yet a comfortable atmosphere.

Very good show - entertaining and touristy but I do recommend it. The theatre was not very big, so no need to worry about being seated at the back, but as others have mentioned, there may be some obstruction to the view of the stage because of the columns depending on your seat.

Yes, this is designed for tourists, but it's still very entertaining. The program is introduced by a four-man quartet that have wonderful voices and harmonies. The costumes are more elaborate than traditional folk dress, but I recognized several traditional folk songs, so I presume all the music was authentic. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the dance steps, but... More
