This is a small Kremlin, compared with others. It is free to enter, very quite and clean. There is a lot to see and walk around. The people who work there are very nice and helpful.

It's quite worth to spend the day there. and not to mention it's free. Try to spot the fake pigeon on St. Nicholas Cathedral :)

It's worth coming out to VN for a day trip from St Petersburg or Moscow, or as a stop over between the two cities just to see the Kremlin, which is the oldest in Russia. It's a short 30 minute walk from the station - just head straight over the road from the station and keep going, past the square... More

I just loved this charming place . This is the first city founded in Russia. Walls are quite interesting but one must remember that much was destroyed during WW2. It has been restored beautifully.

This Kremlin really stands majestic in the city.It is awesome.it was an old structure and hence now it is under restoration works.the tower in this climbs tall and gives a good view of the city.a quick visit to this place is not possible due to its well spread structures.a good place to people who love heritage monuments.

Make the effort to visit Veliky Novgorod. From St.Petersburg it means taking an early train, the 7.11 is the best arriving at about 9.30, & returning at 18.30. This relatively small town offers you something different to the large cities of St.Petersburg & Moscow. The centre point is without doubt the Kremlin. Which is an easy 15 minute walk from... More

There aren't many places in Europe where the old fortress is intact. Krakow I suppose. In Russia, Kolomna has part of the old city wall still intact. But Veliky Novgorod has the most spectacular, complete kremlin next to Moscow itself (and no pesky Commies interred in the walls either). Entrance to the territory is free and the complex has a... This place is where Russian state started. A person cannot leave this place without any impressions. The entrance is free. You can walked around in 15 minutes and take some pictures. Or you can stay here for hours, take excursion and visit all the buildings and museums (additional payment but prices are low). We were there in December 2013. Unfortunately... More
