Take the walk from the other side of the river and enjoy the view from there. Don't forget also to go there at night, it's beautifully floodlighted

This is a good place to get a sense of the real Russia without the hassle and expense of the big cities. Look for the Museum of Wooden Buildings" just outside of town. Don't expect everyone to speak English

Novorogard is situated on the railway between St Petersburg and Moscow and is well worth a break in the journey to spend the best part of the day here. The st Petersburg train leaves leaves just after 7am and gets into Novrogod around 10am. The overnight train to Moscow leaves just after 9pm and gets into Moscow around 5am the... More

Novgorod is the city, where the russian ancient state originated. And that state was a kind of democracy with no authoritarianism, tzars, with no opression of common people. Novgorod is much older than Kiev, Moscow or any other russian city exept, probably, Ladoga, the Novgorod predecessor. And the novgorod Kremlin (fortress) is the heart of the town. Those who want... Veliky Novgorod is one of the oldest city in Russia. There are a lot of wonderful tourist attractions. And also around the city you can visit some great monasteries - Yuriev monastery, Perynskiy skit, Varlaam-Hutynskiy monastery, Nokolo-Vayzheshchskiy monastery.

Velikiy Novgorod is maybe a bit of the main tourist map in Russia but it is only 1 hour from St Petersburg and 4 from Moscow using the fast train, SAPSAN. It is definitely worth coming here. The city has some of the oldest churches in Russia. The local Kremlin may not be as fabulous as the Moscow Kremlin but... More

Interesting place to visit. It is the oldest Kremlin in Russia and has a great story behind it. At Sophie 's church is a must, very beautiful at the insight.

I spent entire day in Novgorod Kremlin. It is absolutely amazing and you can get in touch with history of ancient Russian city. There are several exhibitions in the museum where you can get and audio guide. I took the audio guide in Russian by I noticed that there were also other guides in English, German and French. There are... More

We saw the cathedral, millennium monument and war memorial. Great view of the walls from the bridge, ith the beach just below. A pleasant place for a stroll.

The Kremlin in Novgorod is worth the visit! It is beautiful and quiet, full of history. Just sitting there and enjoy the view is relaxing as well.
