Although not in English you can see some old pictures of Konigsberg. It is impressing to see what is left of the old city right now. Besides that you can read and learn more about Immanuel Kant.

The cathedral sits in pleasant isolation on a small island in the middle of Kaliningrad, there are small orthodox and catholic chapels in the building but its main purpose would appear to be as a concert hall. Everyday at 14:00 there is an organ recital on the cathedral's massive organ, a wonderful instrument expertly played.

The museum gives you a good view of what Koningsberg was once like. All the explanations were in Russian but the pictures and Marquette's already say a lot. Was not so much impressed by the Kant room.

We were fortunate to had visited the day of a concert. The organ recital was excellent and the sound projected so well as it radiated throughout the massive interior. The grounds are lovely and the interior is of course still a work in progress that continue to progress.

A cathedral was once built in order to serve a community of believers, usually resident in the urban dwelling hosting that cathedral, or exceptionally, a place of pilgrimage with visiting believers. What strikes about Koenigsberg's cathedral is that it is surrounded by the void. Specially in winter, when it is cold & foggy, one can feel the absence of the... More

This cathedral is a great testimony to the times of the Prussian empire on the river island where, nowadays, none of the other old buildings stand. It was saved by the fact that Kant's grave was attached to it, otherwise it would have been torn down during communist times. The cathedral itself is interesting and reminds you of German Fachwerkhaus,... More

Kaliningrad Cathedral is an impressive place from outside, but from inside, there is not much to visit and see, unless you buy the extended ticket to go to the Kant's museum. Or unless you're attending some music in which the great organ is played. Otherwise, you pay 150 rubles just to visit the cathedral, which has little interest. Some photos... More

It is a light, beautiful cathedral - a landmark of the City. That' s where the newly-wedds go to have their photo taken (the bridge leading to cathedral is covered with love keys). I consider myself lucky as I had the opportunity to hear the organ concert in the Cathedral. It sounded magnificient! Alledgedly the best organ around the Baltic... More
