Apart from historical buildings, this is probably the best place to visit in the city. We went on the submarine, "Vityaz" and "Victor Patsaev". The last one was really outstanding thanks to the guide. As far as I understand, might be a bit difficult for those who don't speak Russian, but maybe they offer something in English as well

On the day of my visit only one ship was open for excursion apart form the main building of the museum, though there are about 5 of them normally available. It was a space museum on board a ship, which I didn't expect, but the excursion about 4 spacemen from Kaliningrad was very informative.

There are a lot of separate things you can see. We visited the submarine and the aquarium. The submarine was pretty cool to see, but it only takes something like 30 minutes. In the aquarium there were a lot of cool fishes, but their habitats could be better. The tanks should be bigger if you ask me.

The fish in aquarium are held in very bad conditions as the tank for ray fish, for instance, is the size of average tank held at home. the ray fish actually cannot move. Though the buildings have been renovated, there is nothing much to see, except some written information about historical stuff and that is all.

Lot of information and curios and stuff to almost experience folks living and working in conditions from inhuman (submarine) to superhuman (German built and Soviet exploited vessel). Can't be seen all in a day or two but one can try.

The exhibits in the moored vessels are excellent, with clear and informative information in several languages. The aquarium is another matter, the exhibits are clearly labelled but the tanks are small. There is a small snack bar in the foyer of the museum that has an excellent selection of teas.

Check how they sell their tickets and chose what you want to see, I found this place very interesting it shows fishes, different types of sands, there is also a visit to a very interesting boat that took 10 years to be restored and there is a section that hasn't been finished.

i was not going to bother with this museum (4 ships including a submarine, an aquarium albeit with fish and sharks in too little space) but well worth a visit for the soviet submarine alone....

It is in the city center. You can easily arrive by car, foot.Parking is not a problem in the kaliningrad.I think it was the best side of the kaliningrad for me.You can park anywhere (not on the middle of street) for a free :) As you guess, i did it and went to museum by foot.It must not to be missed.Lots of...
