Did you know that Lomonosov University was partially built by german war prisoners? The complex is so huge that you have to look at it from far if you want to get a picture of it. It stands there like a monument of russian culture and education. Very beautiful.

One of the Seven Stalin Sisters, probably the most breathtaking one. Stalin wanted to leave his mark in Moscow, so he build seven huge similar buildings. The most famous of them is the Lomonosov Moscow State University, where thousands and thousands of students walk every single day. Once you're in front of it, you can't be amazed by its size.

The Moscow University is a well built University on a hill overlooking the city. The University is massive and breathtaking. Plus the views from the University are fantastic.

In 1954, I participated in an International Student Congress held at this newly opened building. The work of Gulag slaves, as were most of the other Seven Sisters (the 7 gigantic and almost identical skyscrapers that Stalin commissioned to stamp his legacy on this city), it stood out among the proletarian drabness of the rest of the city. Inside, it... More

This building is one of the largest I have ever seen, and seems to stretch for many blocks. It covers 1 000 000 m2 floor area and caters for more than 40,000 students. It is a very attractive building situated on Sparrow Hills and has a commanding view of the surroiunding area.

My daughter studied here and took me to visit her old haunts. Amazingly big! Also, if you walk to the student accommodation and beyond the park behind it, you'll come to a great funicular railway where you can see Moscow from above. Beautiful!

The main building of Moscow U is the Stalin-style 30's Art-Deco-ish but Soviet architectural massive monolith. It's enormous. Studded with red flags in front and opposite a high prospect over the city and the Olympic Stadium, it's a nice quick stop for a photo and a really impressive sight.

Easy walk option, cca 2 hours: Go to Universitet (Russian: Университе́т) Metro Station, walk toward main university building. You will pass different buildings from 60´s and 80´s located in nice university park. After short time you should reach front of Main University Building. Admire the architecture of Soviet 50´s. Follow park and fountain towards city center and you will reach... More

Moscow state university is situated near metro university. Although there is not much to view except the building itself, there is a view point at the back side of the main building just across the road from where you get a good view of moscow river, luzniki stadium and most part of the city. A must visit place.
