The back stage tour is mesmerising. Seeing the theatre is a joy, the rehearsal areas and the sewing rooms where the costumes are made added hugely to the trip.

when the dreams come true.... my husband and i attended ballet "anyuta"at the new(smaller) stage! dancers were angels from heaven, with airy movement. beautiful crystal chandeliers, impressive stairs. despite the annoying couple behind us who was whispering all night long, it was a perfect performance.

The Bolshoi theatre is one of the places that a visitor must see in Moscow. It is one of the best and biggest of the seven historical opera houses in Europe and if you want to see History with your own eyes it would be a good idea to go there. Now one can buy tickets online, so there is... More

I listened to the opera "The Tsar's Bride" at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow! Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre gorgeous renovated! Before the start of the show, I had a small tour of the updated Bolshoi Theatre. Gold stucco decorated lodge in the auditorium. Beautiful crystal chandeliers illuminate the bright spacious halls and auditorium. Sofas and chairs upholstered in red velvet and... More

Everyone has heard of this famous theater. We waited many years for the repair work to be completed and were finally able to get tickets to see Nutcracker. The ticket prices, however, are extortionate. Yes, it is a iconic venue but I have been to several theaters in Moscow where the performances were just as good, better seating, better views... More

Lucky enough to get free tickets and a tour, I was excited to visit one of the most storied places in Moscow. Not a ballet fan I was not too concerned with the performance rather than the location and experience. Thet show was poorly presented, but the dancers seemed unreal, and the music did lift the evening. However the customer... More

We only had the opportunity to visit the "small" Bolshoi theatre; an oxymoron, since Bolshoi means big or great in russian. We attended a ballet performance and were absolutely enchanted by the beauty of the dancers and the amazing level f skill. Not surprising; after all it's the number one ballet company of the world.

Although I do not like classical music nor ballet, I went to a show at the Bolshoi theater. It is really classy, a nice experience.

That is the main recommendation before going to Bolshoi. They use two stages - new and old ones. The best shows go on the old stage. True, that tickets are pricy and harder to get for the old stage. Buy they from the Bolshoi web-site, don't go to intermediaries. Of course you need to buy them on the very first... More
