It is likely to be an amazing experience and one which we would have loved to have had, but the sheer queuing did for me, and I'm British! I know how to queue! However, when you find that the queue is only open for 2 hours at a time and there are no information boards telling you : 1/ what's... More

Despite being slightly in the shadow of the original Bolshoi next door, this newer theatre is a more intimate venue which still commands an excellent sense of occasion. It feels very informal with a mix of those coming straight from work, dressed to the nines or more casually dressed. We saw the Flames of Paris, a ballet which was well... More

I will try to tell you a little practical details regarding the once in a lifetime experience of visiting the world-famous Bolshoi for a ballet. First, I ordered tickets several months in advance on their website, paying with my U.S. credit card. This worked very well as we saved money and got to choose our exact seats. I printed our... More

I had the chance to visit the theater from backstage. And when the curtain opens on the main hall, it is astounding.

Simply it is one of the best and most beautiful theaters in the world. Must go there and watch an opera ( they have english translations) or a ballet , but avoid the bar during the interval. it is poor in options and the prices are an extortion. That is sad cause the first time we visited the theater it... More

Majestic! Awesome!! Breathtaking!!! Whenever i am in Moscow i always stay at Petrovka Street, the same Street adjacent to Bolshoi, overlooking Bolshoi Restaurant (the back of Bolshoi theater). It's never boring, in almost 20 years of travelling to Moscow this is a place that gives me goose-bumps. Everything everywhere; the surrounding, side street, inside the theater etc

We saw Onedin and the show was fantastic. It seemed that there are no bad seats in the house, but ours were on the lower level and we did not see the upper levels. There were two intermissions, and during the first one we went to get a drink. The menu had no prices in English and the bar tenders... More

The title does not carry an ounce of exaggeration. The Bolshoi is the most magical place on earth. I visited for the first time when I was 15 and we saw Swan Lake and that experience had a massive impact on my life. In an instant I realized there was an artist trapped inside me :) Russia has a lot... More

Premium seating made La Traviata a fantastic experience. The theatre itself is a must see and is just spectacular. The scenes were greatly designed and the accessoires even included a horse with carriage! The orchestra delivered execptionally well. The male characters outperformed the weaker female ones which lead to a slight disbalance. The big disappointment was the dresscode. Shorts, jeans... More
