I bought a ticket from a tout outside just after the show started for 1000R, less than on the ticket. As it was for the slips at the side in an a balcony, getting in was no problem. Wonderful experience.

To spend an evening at the opera in this grand space is a memorable experience. We spring for orchestra seat tix for Tchaikovsky's "The Enchantress" on a cold autumn evening and it was one of the highlights in our all-too-brief trip to Moscow. I have been privileged to see "grand" opera in many of the world's best venues and this... More

I was ok to enjoy practically any performance in the historic hall not only for the musical, but also for the architectural viewing pleasure. I just happened to be lucky that exactly what I wanted to see was on the night I was in Moscow!

Don't even try it. First thing you'll find out is that the Backstage Tou in english is three times more expensive than the one in russian and secondl you will find a guide who speaks a rather bad english and that keeps looking at her watch and dragging you around with the only purpose of covering the one hour time... Fabulous building, refurbished to a high standard. Sight lines to stage good, performance was fantastic. There is a museum, but we didn't have time to visit. If you can get a ticket: go!

We viewed the opera "The Enchantress" by Tchaikovsky in October 2014. We booked online a few weeks in advance, which meant we received a discount. Although we had booked the most expensive seats, they were worth every penny. The standard of singing and the set and costume design were excellent.. There were surtitles in both English and French - very... More

We booked about 2 months in advance to see the Opera Dan Carlos. The theatre is stunning inside and the seats we got were very comfortable. The opera was brilliant - there is a screen with subtitles in Russian but coming from England these were not much use to us! There is a bar downstairs for the interval. There is... More

This review is specifically about the backstage tour. You have to get there early as there are limited spaces and the line is very chaotic, with much cutting so be prepared to be aggressive. Once we made it safely in through much pushing and shoving, we were ushered quickly through a tour. The tour moves quickly and you are shown... More
