I had the chance to visit the theater from backstage. And when the curtain opens on the main hall, it is astounding.

Simply it is one of the best and most beautiful theaters in the world. Must go there and watch an opera ( they have english translations) or a ballet , but avoid the bar during the interval. it is poor in options and the prices are an extortion. That is sad cause the first time we visited the theater it... More

Majestic! Awesome!! Breathtaking!!! Whenever i am in Moscow i always stay at Petrovka Street, the same Street adjacent to Bolshoi, overlooking Bolshoi Restaurant (the back of Bolshoi theater). It's never boring, in almost 20 years of travelling to Moscow this is a place that gives me goose-bumps. Everything everywhere; the surrounding, side street, inside the theater etc

We saw Onedin and the show was fantastic. It seemed that there are no bad seats in the house, but ours were on the lower level and we did not see the upper levels. There were two intermissions, and during the first one we went to get a drink. The menu had no prices in English and the bar tenders... More

The title does not carry an ounce of exaggeration. The Bolshoi is the most magical place on earth. I visited for the first time when I was 15 and we saw Swan Lake and that experience had a massive impact on my life. In an instant I realized there was an artist trapped inside me :) Russia has a lot... More

One of my favorites to see shows when I am in Moscow :) There is a reason this is one of Moscow's places to see!

Premium seating made La Traviata a fantastic experience. The theatre itself is a must see and is just spectacular. The scenes were greatly designed and the accessoires even included a horse with carriage! The orchestra delivered execptionally well. The male characters outperformed the weaker female ones which lead to a slight disbalance. The big disappointment was the dresscode. Shorts, jeans... More

We gawked at all the gold and light fixtures, the royal box, the grand drape - amazing opulence. AND the ballet production of "The Nutcracker" matched the elegant venue. Graceful and beautiful staging - athletic and perfect technique from accomplished dancers - lavish costuming and stage sets - creative staging that created heavenly visuals. Have never seen anything like it.... More

One beautiful theater that should not be missed. Although shows can be expensive, the experience and ambiance are great.

I didn't think I'd be a fan of ballet but seeing the Bolshoi made me a convert. We had tickets to see Corsair - the theatre itself is beautiful, so if you're unable to see the ballet itself, go and do a tour. If you do see a show and end up on the top tier like we were, made... More
