We viewed the opera "The Enchantress" by Tchaikovsky in October 2014. We booked online a few weeks in advance, which meant we received a discount. Although we had booked the most expensive seats, they were worth every penny. The standard of singing and the set and costume design were excellent.. There were surtitles in both English and French - very... More

We booked about 2 months in advance to see the Opera Dan Carlos. The theatre is stunning inside and the seats we got were very comfortable. The opera was brilliant - there is a screen with subtitles in Russian but coming from England these were not much use to us! There is a bar downstairs for the interval. There is... More

This review is specifically about the backstage tour. You have to get there early as there are limited spaces and the line is very chaotic, with much cutting so be prepared to be aggressive. Once we made it safely in through much pushing and shoving, we were ushered quickly through a tour. The tour moves quickly and you are shown... More

If you want to understand what does mean ballet for Russian culture you need to visit this place. Me and my girlfriend were at Bolshoi theatre in December 2014 on Shelkunchik (nutcracker) by Tchaikovsky. It was like New Year fairy tale. Music and performance were amazing. We immersed in an atmosphere. Bar were good. All services work on the high... More

We went to see La Traviata and it was spectacular! The production was amazing but more so the atmosphere and lovely, beautiful surroudings. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is there are quite a few seats with restricted views. I would recommened looking very closely at a seating guide before you book your tickets.

I bought my ticket from a lady on the entrance very cheap. She was happy, so was I, as I could not find any tickets in box offices outright. I just took a chance and went to the door before the performance. All seats, wherever they were, appeared all comfortable and had good observation angle. This was a newly renovated... More

Have no idea why this is ranked 35th - this was the complete highlight of my entire trip to Moscow. The renovated theatre is stunning and the seats are plush and comfortable - not a huge amount of leg room, but sufficient for all 6 foot 1 of me... I wouldn't want to be a huge amount taller though!! I... More

I recently saw an Opera there and it was fabulous. Even though it was in Russian I enjoyed it immensely as I bought the brochure and read a summary about what it was about beforehand. I paid about $120 Canadian for 2nd row tickets and it was VERY worth it. The theatre is gorgeous and is like stepping back in... More
