Unfortunately we only had time to view the outside and surrounding buildings. Was beautiful though, as I would expect the inside to be.

After being in many theaters all over the world, this is not worth the money. If you like Architecture this is a beautiful building. If you like theater, this is not it. Seats are uncomfortable. You could not see stage from many places I try. Ticket prices are outrageous. Tickets sold out to speculators way ahead of time. Speculators will... More

Bolshoi Theatre is like a temple of classical ballet and opera. Only here I could feel opera and ballet and understand why they are and were so popular.

Currently all performances by Bolshoi are held in 2 buildings: old (so called historical stage) and new. If you are a rare visitor in Moscow, it's worth exploring the old building of Bolshoi. It stages both opera and ballet, but in my opinion, ballet wins over opera there. Russian ballet school is classical and traditional. If you have a chance,... More

Bolshoi Theatre - one of the largest in Russia and one of the most important in the world of opera and ballet theatres. Theatre is located in the center of Moscow on Teatralnaya Square. The history of the theatre decided to carry on with March 1776. Modern building designed by architect Joseph (Osip Ivanovich Bove) Beauvais. The opening took place... More

In Bolshoi you will receive a stunning complex of sensations: the luxurious interiors of the Imperial theatre, a gourmet buffet await guests before the show and during intermission. But now we go into the hall, the lights of luxurious plafond turn down and the magic begins! We are enchanted with the magic of music and magnificent action! We dissolve in... More

The State Imperial theater of Russia, it is one of the most beautiful and certainly significant and influential ballet houses in the world. If you want to see the old world opera or ballet - classical performances are especially opulent. Not all seats are comfortable. The upper levels are quite “challenging”. My preference for ballet is Amphitheatre or center Dress... More

We saw Traviata and were blown away. It felt like a very special experience to be in a world renowned home of some of the best performances. There was a little exhibition to visit before the performance. Tickets were a gift and I have to say, there couldn't have been a better treat for our stay in Moscow. It was... More

I tried to buy the ticket for the Carmen performance three weeks before my travel date, but all the seats were taken. So if you want to buy the ticket online, you have to book it at least 2 months ahead. Then we took an excursion to visit just the theatre building which was great. The guide told us everything...
