I went to the Tretyakov on the advice of TripAdvisor. I loved it. I could have spent all day on the 4th floor (the main gallery). Marc Chagal, Filonov... lots of artists I'd never seen before. However, the address on the tripadvisor web site was wrong. The proper address is 10, Krymsky Val, Moscow, 117049. The one on Lavrushinsky Lane... more

Tretyakov's 20th Century exhibits, vast sculpture park and artists' stalls on both sides of the exhibit hall - you really shouldn't miss any of them. The bonus in Tretyakov's exhibition halls: good view towards the Christ the Savior's cathedral (and that Tsereteli's almost 100m tall Peter the Great statue..). It takes easily half a day, but is definitely worth it. more

You can spend a day in and around the the new Tretyakov Gallery. It is half way between the Park Cultury and Octoberskya metro stations, and across from Gorky Park. This is one of my favourite places in Moscow. The gallery has 20th Century Russian Art - superb - love the Soviet collection. Tiny cafe - over priced but does the job for a cup of tea. The sculpture park is delightful - hundreds of random sculptures laid out with wooden walk ways - over looked by the towering Peter... more
