I liked the great collection of carriages. Has never seen that one before anywhere else. Combining the visit with a visit of Diamond Fund is the must.

This place is a truly wonderful place to visit and i heartily commend you spent a few hours taking it all in. The sheer opulence of the exhibits is awe inspiring and it more than simply a collection of arms and armour. The carriages and sledges are a delight to behold, and the whole thing is unlike any other museum... More

Tickets are not cheap but worth a visit. Tickets go on sale at certain points of the day and only 45 minutes before so be aware to plan this into your day. Takes about 1-2 hours for whole visit. Audio guide provided in cost of ticket to explain exhibits. Not a massive collection but some lovely pieces.

Bought tickets to view at 14:30 but it took over an hour to get in side, waiting in the freezing cold wind. Once inside, the collection is very small. Not impressed.

It was really great museum, which shows the great collections of Tzar's luxury. We spent about 2 hours there with a tour guide, who explained the history of Russia, in very interesting way that it didn't sound like history lecture. We loved this museum, Highly recommended.

This is much more than an armoury, shows history dating back to the 12th century with crowns, jewellery, faberge eggs, swords, chalices and a lot more, so much to see.

At least you need to take an audio guide in your language which you can find in the hall, you will be asked to leave a deposit or id, which will be returned to you in the end. It's forbidden to take pictures inside of museum, but they sell beautiful postcards and books of this museum. It is really huge... More
