Synonymous when thinking of Moscow and Russia - is St. Basil's Cathedral, located on the Red Square. Stunning inside and out. 24/7. There's no fee to see it from every angle on the outside (24/7) but there's a small fee to visit inside. Well worth it! Great old Russian church chorals singing live and you can hear their angelic voices... More

Terrific architecture, onion domes, beautiful frescos. A must to see both by day and by night. The outside is beautiful. Did not get inside but the outside is incredible.

This is not an austere typical cathedral. It is very colorful and the architectural lines are wonderful.

Like other have said, the gem is the outside. We are glad we took the inside tour, but nothing fancy. It is an old church and the inside is small. The best part was the choir performing in one of the side churches.

The outside of St.Basil's is amazing and nothing I will write will prepare you for how stunningly spectacular it is to see this world famous landmark in the flesh. You should pay the 250R (about £5) and go inside. Only then do you truly appreciate that the building is actually numerous chapels gathered around the amazing central chapel (upstairs -... More

I enjoyed my afternoon wandering through St Basil's a lot. Having been through so many cathedrals over the years I was pleased to see how different the cathedrals and churches of the Russian Orthodox faith are. Instead of the grand sweeping central hall full of pews found in a Western cathedral, St Basil's cathedral is made up of many small... More

The monument is the most eye catching one in Moscow. It is a former church. The structure is just gorgeous. It was ordered by Ivan the terrible and is the main landmark of Moscow. You have not seen Russia if you do not visit this. The onion domes sets this structure apart from everything. I just loved it.

The cathedral as it stands high and beautiful speaking of the beauty the red land boasts about. As beautiful inside as it is from the outside. The carols being played inside at specific intervals rejoice a deal. The building is a marvel in itself. A chill went past me as I touched the stone of the building.

This beautiful church is an iconic landmark in Moscow. Free to photograph the exterior. Worth the money to enter and wander through the chapels and corridors.
