We travelled from St Petersburg's Moscovskii's station to Moscow on 04/09 as part of a Trans-Siberian adventure. We upgraded to first class and we were royally spoilt by the brilliantly attentive on board staff. The 4h 30m... More

While staying in St Petersburg, we chose a seemingly-impossible day trip to Moscow, 400 miles (650km) away - the Sapsan train was the only option. I booked the trip online before leaving the UK. We left at 07:00 punctually and arrived in Moscow at 10:40, giving us plenty of time to explore. As we'd booked a late train back (dep... More

We caught the train from Moscow to St Petersburg. Less than 4 hours and city to city. Some of my colleagues took 3 hours to get to the airports in Moscow. A lot better than catching a domestic flight go on the bullet train!

This four hour train to Moscow offers WiFi (albeit it very slow, economy class must pay for it) and refreshments. Able to book in with your passport. Safe to buy tickets online. Maximum speed of around 200km/h.

Beat the airport security, queues and crowds and use the Sapsan. Four hours of comfortable travel watching Russia whizz past. The chairs reclined, the announcements were clear and snacks were available. Trains were on time, clean and modern. I can totally recommend this service.
