I took the Sapsan train to travel from St. Petersburg to Moscow. It departed and arrived right on time, so it helped me to keep my schedule. Another good point was the connexion to local subway stations. On the other hand, for the cost and the length of the trip, seats on economy class could be at least a bit... More

A smooth running train - it's fast, although relatively expensive, but totally worth it. The train provides catering service, standart class seats were extremely comfortable and neat. The usial standart class fares are 3000-3500 R.

I used to think that an hour-long flight from Moscow to St Peterburg was a much better option than a four-hour train. Iwas wrong because when you add up the time it takes to get to the airport, the time speant at the airport and then the time getting home from the next airport, it actually makes more sense to... We had to travel from St.Petersburg to Moscow and were tossing up between the Sapsan and flying. I'm so glad we chose the Sapsan. Timewise it's probably about the same if you count airline check-in etc. We went business class and there were only about 2 other people in our carriage. We were served an airline-like meal and had free... More

Travelled from Moscow to St Petersburg. Fast, extremely comfortable and very smooth journey. The seats are well spaced with plenty of legroom and was able to nap without neck-jerking.There is a cloakroom provided in addition to luggage storage area. Bathrooms were clean. Movies were shown on board, new earphones are provided with every seat, but Russian language programmes only. Wifi... More

Took the 7:25 P.M. Sapsan train from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Purchased tickets via the Russia-train website and was able to process the transaction very easily. The website lists the different trains that run daily. We chose "business class" which was very comfortable with plenty of leg room and individual footrests for comfort. Each coach had attendants who served drinks... More

Not really an attraction but certainly an efficient way to move between Moscow and St Pete. Definitely spend the extra and get first class. Overall a very comfortable and professional service. I really liked how they came through and made arrangements for those that needed a taxi at St Pete. That was pretty helpful because St Pete station can be... More

Fast and efficient service. Booked tickets online 3 months in advance and got a good deal. Picked up tickets from the automatic machines at the station with no hassle (you need your 14-digit booking ref and your passport number - persist if the machine states it can't find the booking at first). Professional service aboard the train. Didn't use the... More
