I started from the Leningrad Train station. My tickets were bought online one week earlier, with choice of seat..etc. The train is prompt it takes just over 4 hours to reach St Petersburg. Very comfortable seats, a mobile bar service for a fee (personally I brought my own lunch box, no need for extra expenses!!).. as far as I was... More

I took the Sapsan train from Moscow to St.Petersburg and back. The train is very fast. I honestly thought that a 4 hour journey would be too much but the train turned out to be so comfortable that I couldn't believe that we had arrived in St.Petersburg already. The hours flew by. The seats are so very comfortable... plenty of... More

We took the Sapsan from Moscow to St. Petersburg, and the experience was worth it. Clean, spacious with a great pantry service. The hostesses are very caring and polite.

The fast and efficient way to travel between Moscow & ST. Petersburg. It also provides a glimpse of the enormous Russian expanse and the contrast between rural and urban life. The service on board for the tourist was surprisingly good. My wife & I were able to book a taxi - that was waiting for us when we arrived at... More

We were short on time and could not afford spending daylight hours commuting by train. With some degree of apprehension we booked ourselves on the overnight trains. Expecting some degree of 'discomfort' our journey was a complete surprise. Our tickets were booked in a 2nd class Kupe (four berths in each enclosed cubilcle) in a double decked train. The train... Very good connection between Saint Petersburg and Moscow. Less than 4 hours and you are at destination. Comfortable, clean, not noisy and very good service! Better than to go by plane!

This is far better than by plane. No two hours in advance. Not leaving the city center. and when you get to your destination you are in the city center again. Comfortable seats plenty of space to move around and you are there in 4 hours.

I absolutely love Sapsan trains - beautiful, fast, great service (food, drinks, newspapers are available)! We had crepes with caviar and it was very tasty. Staff ordered a taxi for us from the train and the driver met us right at the train car. The only downside was that wifi wasn't walking but I suppose if you have company on... More

This is a great way to travel between Moscow and St Petersburg, but don't expect a white-knuckled, bone-shaking ride. Firstly, because it's a Hi-speed train, the track is very smooth, so you don't get much of an impression of speed, and secondly because compared with a train like Eurostar, it is really quite slow, hardly going above 200 kph (125...
