I Travelled business class with my wife on the 15:07 from St Petersburg to Moscow, all staff were very helpful and efficient. We were served a complimentary drink and a 3 course meal which was of a high standard. The train ran on time for the whole journey and we were kept up to date with broadcasts in English. The... One of the best fast trains I have travelled on in Europe. Nice and spacious and comfy seats, plenty of room for onboard baggage, friendly staff who speak english, timely and a great way to travel from Moscow to St petersburg.

Four hours flew by. Book tickets on the Russian railways website (en.rzd.ru). It is MUCH cheaper than booking through an agent, fast, reliable and painless (just keep your wits about you navigating the menus. tickets go on sale 45 days beforehand). This is fast and stylish. The trains are modern and clean. There is a buffet service on board. The 4 hour journey allows you to see some of the rural Russia. Much better than the hassle of getting to and from airports and giving more time to enjoy St Petersburg.

The Sapsan is a great way to travel between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The Leningradsky Train Station is clean and intuitive. If you spring for the business class ticket you can wait in the business lounge for the train to load and you get a meal with alcohol if you so desire. The train seats are interesting in that they... If I could travel like this everywhere, I would. The Sapsan is a fast, easy way to get between Moscow and Petersburg, and it is infinitely preferable to flying with all its attendant hassles. Food is served at mealtimes, and snacks are available for purchase from the bistro cars and the carts that go up and down the aisles. The... More

Prolly the fastest way to get to St Peresbourg! Also tickets can be so very cheap if you pick "less popular" date
