It goes frequently from Moscow to St.Petersburg (and back, of course) and the trip is usually only 4 hours and if you calculate the time you need to fly you actually gain if you are taking the saps train.

We left Moscow at 7:30 PM on December 30 and in 4 hours were in St-Petersburg. Unbeatable! Very important fact is that you are leaving the center of city and coming to the center of "other Russian" capital. If you use the airplane it would take longer because of the traffic on the way to the airports and checking process.... More

Moscow to St Petersburg in 4 hours! Typically, it's a night train or a two hour flight. This one will take you there in 4 hours! Excellent service and FAST!!! it's the best option to get from Moscow to St Petersburg today. I only wish the tickets were less expensive.

the train called sapsan is easy and fast connection between center of this three city:Moscow, Peterburg and Novgorod As for me sapsan is similar to german ICE. Also there's one more fast train between Moscow and Petersburg called Lastochka- is much cheaper but fast and comfortable similar to austrian qbb trains

This is the way to go between Moscow/St.Petersburg. Clean, fast, QUIET, downtown to downtown, and there are frequent convenient departure times. I did not buy the tickets at the station, but worked with RealRussia, and did the online part with their help. Tickets were in Russian and English with clear instructions, line #,car# times etc. It could not have been... More

We took the sapsan early in the morning and reached Moscow in under 4 hours. The staff were polite and cordial. The service in the train was above par. I would definite recommend this train over others.

This is definitely not Eurostar from London to Paris but it's comparable. Travelling from St Petersburg to Moscow or vice versa from City Center to City Center is like London to Paris. It is clean, comfortable, pleasant, good food in business class but does not come cheap in comparison to flight from St Petersburg to Moscow. The journey takes approximately... More

This is a very comfortable and convenient way to travel between the 2 cities. Book in advance as the train is often full, and the queue for tickets long. It's a nice trip through the Russian countryside, taking about 3.5 hours. The train is probably the cleanest we've been on. There is food service onboard with a good variety of... More

Did an evening connection after Moscow Golden Ring and really enjoyed the experience to St Petersburg. Not the fast train I experienced in Europe, but easy and pleasant. Busy train but best way to do it.
