We used the Sapsan fast train to travel from St. Petesburg to Moscow and back. The train left on time, it was clean and comfortable and it took 3.5 hours to get there. The tour guide told us that for touristic purposes is a lot better to travel by train because the train station is in downtown Moscow and is... More

Modern high-speed trains get you between Moscow and Saint Petersburg in about four hours. Comfortable seating and free Wi-Fi in business class. Regular tea/coffee/snack service moving along the train. There is also a restaurant car where you can order various meals. The reason for not giving an "excellent" rating is because the food is average (comparable to what you would... More

Taking this train leaves an impression that Moscow and St. Petersburg stand next to each other, the travel is that easy. Train is shiny new, probably over staffed (not a bad thing for travelers) with nice and polite young people, and one can get a service on many languages.

Thought this was the best way to travel from St. Petersburg to Moscow. Everything about the trip was effortless. Makes you wonder why a country like the USA doesn't have these? Who wouldn't be for advanced transport, efficiency, and modernization? Glad Russia was because this took the stress out of having to travel back to the airport. All was within... More

Arrival at the station on our tour bus was done with precision and the walk down the crowded platform also - boarding the train was a surprise - so clean and comfortable - the 4 hours seemed like 2 hours - the whole journey was very smooth - the vast plains whizzed by! Loved it!

we travelled from moscow to st.petersburg. It was a nice experience, economy class is decent. The seats were comfortable and the music broadcastt from the seat's side was OK. Shouldn't expect much.

We took the said trains in Moscow, to and from St. Petersburg - trains move like clockwork, reach final destination in 4 hours or even a few minutes less. Seats are comfortable, good leg space, good cafeteria to buy and eat/drink. Prices are on a higher side though, and if you have time beforehand, one can try going by plane... More

Travelled from Moscow to St Petersburg and this is certainly the most convenient way. Wanted to add a little bit of special to the trip so booked first class which included a meal and drinks. What I did not realise was that the food was the same as being on flight and included one alcoholic drink only (not that I... More

What i like the most is the perfect timing ie. it start sharp at its departure time and no delays whatsoever. You can carry as many luggage you want , there is no restriction on baggage plus for vegetarians there are almost no items on the board so keep you breakfast with you. Drinks / beers are available on the... More

Very efficient trains. the entire moscow-SPB journey took less than 4 hours. English speaking staff. free wifi (depending on the travel class you are in). Also, one way we booked the business equivalent class and got free newspaper and breakfast plus drinks. No reason why I would not take this again for another trip between the cities.
