When you enter the garden of the site you would never, as most of the neighbours yet know, think about the enourmous builing you'll enter down to -65m under the surface. The object was built in the 1950s with the big underground station, connecting three lines. So nobody wondered about the work in progress. You'll walk down 18 floors and... More

We went the first week in April (off-season). I will agree with everyone that it is somewhat difficult to get things arranged to go on the tour, but it's not because they are not friendly or are diabolical or anything like that, they just seem a bit clueless about the most efficient way to run a business! (OK, this is... More

I visited the museum last week with a school group. On arrival we were shown into a small courtyard, and made to wait until our guard arrived. On the stroke of 12, Anna our guide arrived, dressed in full Soviet uniform. She had an excellent tone in addressing the group - somewhat distant, but not intimidating - playing the role... More

please do not disturb the stuff... the djeschurnaja was unfriendly but somewhat helpful... she showed me a price list, on which foreign tourists would have to pay 1.300 rubles for the tour - i've read about 400 rubles on several sites... as i'm living in a city which has lots of tourists every year i can NOT understand why foreigners... i got to sit and control the computer that couldve ended it for the world! and we got to dress up in russian military costumes and get photos with guns. The guide was great and enthusiastic. Very interesting movie giving russias side to the cold war also.. Very cool. Make sure you book before trying to find the place though!! More

Very outdated and cheesy 70s cold war stuff on display. The museum smelled like feint garlic as well. More

I am local who was here with my friend from USA, and I liked this museum. I like the way staff communicated with visitors, and presentation, movie, objects are thrilling. More

On 1st Decemver, 2011 I phoned to enquire about organising a trip for myself and a group of friends. I feel compelled to write about the rude and impudent way their member of staff treated me. Firstly, aside from the derogatory tone of their member of staff, I was made to feel that I was somehow inconveniencing her for calling.... More

So after you're taken down the 18 flights of stairs and walk around in the bunker (hoping that it's still structurally sound, I'm sure it is though) and hear the sound of the metro trains rumbling past nearby, what else is there to do but be shown a movie about the Cold War and then be taken to a room... Take the tour. I won't give away everything, but if launching nukes at the US, wielding AK-47's, and evacuating through a fog-filled, darkened tunnel 16 stories underground is your type of thing, then make sure you take this tour. The disco at the end really caps things off. More
