A center piece of Timisoara

It is a very beautiful place to see, if you are in Timisoara and you have the time I would recommend to see a theatre play.

If you have the chance to see a show don't hesitate, great quality and low prices. Building is really beautiful inside. The plazza outside is popular meeting place for younger locals with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby.

The beautiful Renaissance building of the Opera was built between 1871 and 1875; it was devastated by fires in 1880 and 1920. It hosts the Romanian Opera, the National Theatre "Mihai Eminescu", the German Theatre and the Hungarian "Csiky Gergely" Theatre. It is better to book a guided tour of the Opera house to learn about its history and the... More

A great city to visit. Great places to see, great food, great bars, great clubs, great people. The city lives a certain restructer at the moment, which opens more space for people who like to explore the city by walk.

The Opera House is right in the city center. It is a meeting point and from it you can start exploring the surrounding historical streets. On one side of the building is a nice terrace called "Symphony cafe" and on other side, on Alba Iulia Street, is Timisoara's tourist information center, from where you can find out more about the... This place is considered by students to be the center of the town. You can find here many shops and places to eat. Also, you can go to the theatre or to the opera, which is a very pleasant experience. It looks very nice, especially in the spring. The pigeons are always around. Sometimes clowns, too.

I go to this Opera on a regular basis and I have to say that performances have improved greatly in the last ten years. Not to mention that the price is awesome compared to other European Operas. I just wish they would repair the front of the building which burned in WWII - so the facade you see is not... More

we have been here several times and each time it was a very good experience. They have Romanian subtitles on an overhead board for non-Romanian performances. The experiences we have had have been very good - worth going. The price is very reasonable and the sound is excellent. If you find a performance you want to go to, by all... More
