Located pretty much at the center of town, it is an attraction not to miss for that perfect post card picture (or Instagram) shot. Not only is it a beautiful structure, but it also holds a number of historical and religious artifacts. Normally the door in front remains closed, but there is a side door just to the left for... it's nothing out of the ordinary, nor in size or architecture. It' an orthodox church built during the 20th century and it's located in the center if town. It's handy to visit the churh and it's worth 10 minutes to get an idea of it. Sometimes you can hear outside the curch the cermon, and it's a crowded place especially... More

If you're visiting Tmisoara, don't miss the Orthodox Cathederal. Not only a beautiful and historic place of worship, but significant during the Romanian Revolution. Look for the bullet strike marks on the steps and the photographs of the martyrs who died whilst trying to shelter from the Securitate during the revolution.

It is built in the XX-th century. Nice painting representing scenes from the Bible, various moments from Jesus Christ`s life and paintings representing various orthodox saints, including Romanian ones.

Imposing building, warm interior, almost always full, but worth visiting. Not looking like other orthodox churches, but definitely onne of the highlights of the city.

We only spent a short time in here because it was almost time for evening service, but we wish we could have stayed longer, it was beautiful and we would recommend a visit to this church.

An impressive building which seemed to have been recently renovated. It is a must see for anyone who hasn't yet visited an orthodox church, but it is no different to other churches of its style around Europe. Beautiful and peaceful, it is a great place to take a break after walking down town.

The place should be on the must to see list. Beautiful architecture based on Romanian style, the construction was finished in 1946. The interior space also has an elegant elongation, the right place for a small contemplation.
