Lovely little museum, with many hands-on artefacts - kids can try their hands at weaving on a little loom, they can touch soft dolls dressed in traditional Romanian clothes, traditionally woven woolen carpets, kitchen utensils... We spent a nice hour looking at all the lovely exhibits.

We took our children on a little trip to the ethnographic museum not knowing what to expect and how long they'll last. Thankfully, entrance up is rather cheap so it wasn't a big risk but it turned out they thoroughly enjoyed it and were really interested in finding out the history and the purpose of all the objects on display.... I've had the opportunity to visit Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania in September 2013 with a couple of friends and I was very delighted by this experience. Peaceful atmosphere which introduces you into fascinating Transylvania, explanatory exhibition material, variety of points of interest. I truly recommend Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania as a relevant point of attraction when visiting Cluj. It will... More

It's a nice museum located in the city centre. You can see lots of exhibits which give you an insight into Transylvanian rural life. You can admire the tools they used for farming, weaving and other household items which you can only see in museums these days. There is a nice collection of Armenian carpets on display and a nice... The ethnographic museum was undergoing refurbishment in September 2013. It houses a small but fascinating exhibition which gives a visitor an insight into life in Transylvania in the past. Well worth a quick visit.

Even if you go alone or with your family, childrens or so on....this place will impress you. You can understand romanian traditions and culture. You can see how similar and how different (in the same time) it was the way of living across different parts of Romania. You need to reserve for this museum about 2 hours or more, so... More

I like this museum because it shows lots of items and with some explanations. You can spend some hours in a weekend with the kids, teaching them about the not so distant history.

This is a review of the Ethnographic Museum. I see from reading other reviews that some people have written reviews for the National Ethnographic Park here by mistake. I visited alone on a rainy day and enjoyed viewing the costumes and artifacts. Each room had it's own 'guard' but I eventually found two young English-speaking workers who were happy to... More

Excellent place if you want to get in touch with culture, traditions, activities of Romanian and Hungarian from Transylvania. It needs a colorful brochure so it will be more easy and interesting for tourists to read the information about the exponats.
