Come view the whimsical art at McKenzie-Childs. Set on a beautiful parcel across from the Cayuga Lake, this gem should not be missed. Watch the short showing the steps each piece goes through and be intrigued by the on-site artist as a piece is colorfully brought to life. Tour the 15-room home and pick up a favored item in the... Most of the reviews below describe the experience of a visit to MacKenzie-Childs. I'm a pretty typical male and really had little interest in visiting but I'm certainly glad I did. Went with my wife(of course), son and daughter-in-law on the day before the barn sale. In an earlier review, the reviewer said people had waited hours in line. This... More

A unique store and pottery. Decorated pottery , furniture, rugs jewelry and a lot more. Way over the top. There is a farmhouse on the grounds which is a must see as it is furnished with all th products of Mac-Kenzie -Childs. The companywas started by artists who certainly had imagination. Everything is very whimsical. Don't miss it

We were in the area during the annual "barn sale" so we decided to check it out. We arrived late in the day, about an hour before closing, so it wasn't super busy. We had time to walk through the barn sale and saw some really interesting things. We returned a few days later after the barn sale was over... More

Living in the Rochester area, I had been to Parkleigh Pharmacy, as well as EAST Aurora (very far from Aurora; actually WEST of Aurora) and had experienced the MacKenzie Childs craze. I have friends that are collectors, but never really was overly enthused, before my trip to the BARN SALE this past weekend. For those who are familiar with it,... More

The farmhouse setting was beautiful and the house setting was incredible. It would have been nice to have a narrator on the house tour but leisurely strolling on your own worked well. The initial video was well done to familiarize everyone with what we were going to view. The gift shop is perfect with lots of special offerings. Allow lots... More

We stopped just to look and what a great time we had. Fascinating to watch the interns working on a product. I think we had fun just seeing all the crazy things that could have the checkered design on them. Wish I could have afforded something!

What pleasure to be transported from the everyday into a world of whimsy made reality. My friends and I made the trip to Aurora to have lunch at the Aurora Inn and to visit MacKenzie Childs. Both were extraordinary experiences and I feel refreshed and stimulated.

I was amazed that this well known maker of art decor was right here in the Finger Lakes. Loved the tour of the house and the huge shop.
