Amazing jewel in a small town.

I was amazed that this well known maker of art decor was right here in the Finger Lakes. Loved the tour of the house and the huge shop.

What pleasure to be transported from the everyday into a world of whimsy made reality. My friends and I made the trip to Aurora to have lunch at the Aurora Inn and to visit MacKenzie Childs. Both were extraordinary experiences and I feel refreshed and stimulated.

We were visiting family in nearby Penn Yan, NY and I saw a sign on the highway for this "attraction" so I researched and we decided to take a nice country drive to check it out. It is a feast for the eyes to say the absolutely least. Located out in the country, with geese and a pond, I would... More

Friend insisted we make a trip to this place. It is an incredible smack of color and visual feast of what can be done in the name of art and offer for purchase as well. I was pleased to learn that the clay items are made there, and primarily by hand, despite the use of molds, these do take time... More

Traveled here with my daughter interested in interior design and her mind was blown. She enjoyed the shop and especially the informative video, but the farmhouse tour took the cake! She didn't know where to look first! All the way home...she kept up a running dialogue on everything she saw!

I couldn't wait to get inside! And what a fun place to browse. I found lots of things I would love, can easily see the addiction. At my age though, I purchased a lovely teapot! My daughter of course, confiscated it. There is so much to appreciate. Other shoppers were obviously repeat customers, their bags were packed! Yes, it is... More

We visited the Mackenzie-Childs Farm House and estates on a lovely afternoon. The Farm House and the other buildings are worth seeing, if only to understand how a single design aesthetic can be somewhat overwhelming. Every object, whether furniture, fabric or pottery, is overpriced on the order of at least two. There is consistency… and if it is your style,... More

There is nothing like this. Outstanding quality and so unique! And don't miss the tour through the Farm House - our guide was awesome and really knew the history and the story of each of the pieces used to fill the rooms.
