The available butterfly species to see are limited but it was interesting to see the butterflies feeding on fruit slices and artificial 'nectar concoction'. There was no keeper to interpret so it was pretty much a 'see and google it for more information' experience. There are preserved bugs and butterflies collection. We were already in Mambukal so we just thought... More

Very nice collection of butterflies. I like the fact that when you walk in, different kinds of butterflies (with the caterpillars and pupas) are separated in different cages. Unfortunately, there is no guided tour so you will have to appreciate the butterflies yourself.

Nice place to relax and visit the butterflies. Also educational to learn more about the butterflies. Great place for kids.

Went here last year, and there were hardly any butterflies flying around. There were tons of dead ones in frames though. I think my nieces were taken aback by them.

The first time we went into Mambukal was indeed a memorable experience. Me and my friends really enjoyed it a lot though we haven't reached the 7th falls. It's quite a long walk but it was a very interesting journey at all.

I have been to 3-4 of these around the world..it is ok..what makes it fun...is you can stand on a box with gigantic 9-10 feet butterfly wings behind you and the pictures are price less...

Michelle and I went to do the hike to the 7 falls, and on our second day at Mambukal Resort we found the Butterfly Sanctuary. We spend the better part of 2 hours going through there seeing the various butterflies and I was shooting Macro photos of them. Great time!!

Sunday visit to see the dozens of butterflies was a treat , but not one of the best, apparently the owners are more interested in selling souvenirs than the number of different species.. One of the nicer experiences was watching them feed.

I love butterflies and was disappointed when there were very few varieties in the garden when the sample display showed more. Nevertheless,I still enjoyed seeing these beautiful creatures closely.

In comparison with some others this was a little disappointing with only about 3 or 4 small different butterflies visible in the enclosure... Maybe we went off-season?
