We got there actually at dusk, so wasn't much able to appreciate the statue ( not much lighting), we did however visit the nearby park and get some cool souvenirs.

When we stopped at the Shrine we were accosted by locals vying for trade. We went into the second restaurant where they showed us great looking fresh crab and told us the price. They did not apparently have printed menus, but we also ordered fresh coconut and rice with our meal. We were serenaded by a harp player, which was... More

This stop is a historic and beautiful place but one that once seen you will not make another trip for a while. The outside food options are good but also remember to look over the menu before you walk in.

Visited this tourist spot on our last day under limited time. We were staying at Movenpick resort which was a short taxi ride from this site. We had the taxi driver wait for us while we did a quick tour. There was a row of souvenir shops on site which we didn't have time to check out. As we were... More

On this place the spanish conqueror Magelhan lost his life in 1521 against the famous Lapu-Lapu. Lapu-Lapu can be seen on this monument. The grave of Magelhan is just behind it. A small exhibition tells the fight of the Spaniards against the natives on this small Island near Cebu.

Cebu's most visited and must see attraction. Second to Magellan's Cross. It is where the famous Battle of Mactan's location and where Ferdinand Magellan was slained by Lapu lapu's warriors. During the reign of President Gloria Arroyo, she asked the local government to put up a small cottage for tourists. And since then it was well maintained by the locales.... More

Small place to visit. Nothing much to see except Lapu-Lapu's statue is very nice. His butt is well structured. Good to shop inside. Nice people and decent shopping prices.
