We always hear Sunday masses at this church despite the distance from our house because of the ambiance & the priests who hear masses. This maybe an ancient church but with a now & then renovation which made this church all the more beautiful. The down side is the parking attendant inside the church grounds which are discourteous & pisses... More

Firstly this is not just a Cathedral the grounds are also worthy of a good look although unfortunately there are rough sleepers and beggars aplenty. It was hard to accept that this was in the centre of a busy City especially when you admired the gardens upon entry to the area which were ideal space for a moment of reflection.... More

Travelling to Cebu City? If you're a person who loves heritage and historical sites, I can suggest Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. Few meters from Rajah Humabon Monument, Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, Casa Gorordo, Magellans Cross and Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino.

It is located along P. Burgos St. It is walking distance Basilica and Magelan Cross. It was built sometime in 1595. The architecture of the church is typical of Spanish colonial churches. The facade features a trefoil-shaped pediment, which is decorated with carved relieves of floral motifs. The construction is made of cut stones and concrete plaster and is now... More

I have a special affection for this church because this is where my parents got married. Although it was not as beautiful then as it is now. I am thankful that this church is now being taken cared of and given the value it truly deserved. The nice thing about this church is that it is quiet and solemn because... More

Nice Church, lovely architecture, close by Magellans Cross, so this makes it a must visit for all tourist regardless of your beliefs. Build by the Spanish Conquistadors in 1595, its the archdiocese of Cebu. Very details works of art inside, quit fascinating and moving to watch all the worshipers pray in the beautiful church. Well worth the visit for any... More

Most visitors to Cebu will visit the Basilica of the Sto Niño and may miss out on the Cebu Cathedral. I'm glad I visited this church on Holy Tuesday when it held its yearly procession of the Passus and Stations of the Cross. The procession was a colorful and depicted scenes and saints that figure in the story of Christ's... More

What amazed me so much with the cathedral was the altar so grand with its gold-painted altar and life-size images. It is where I first saw in my life , the biggest cross with the crucified Christ near the main door. The architecture as a whole makes one feel like travelling back in time. This is a perfect setting to... More

I love the architecture of this church. It's a good church for weddings. It also has air conditioning. For weddings you'll have to pay 25,000 the last time I searched in order to turn on the air conditioning of the whole church.
