Mario is personable and very knowledgeable. We learned about the history and culture of Panama as we toured the city. It was a perfect way to spend a layover! We visited the old town and the modern part of town, fish market and the fruit market. Tried one of the best pineapple (way better than ones I had in Hawaii!)... More

My husband and I had the opportunity to tour twice with Almiza, and both days were spectacular! Mario was even kind enough to send us pictures of our time on tour and the monkeys we saw along the way....what a positive experience we had!

A few of us arranged a tour prior to our cruise. Our ship arrived in Colon, where we met up with Alex for our full day tour to Panama City and return. We drove across the Centennial Bridge which spans the Culebra Cut of the Canal. Our hike up Ancon Hill was interesting with stops to photograph sloths and other... More

We decided on the Gatun/Locks+Rain forest tour. We were met at the dock and had only one other couple on our tour, so this was way better than the usual cruise ship cattle call. Our guide, Alex, had a great fund of knowledge and was terrific about answering questions and ensuring we had a terrific experience. We saw parrots and... More

My spanish is limited to the words si and no, sadly our driver & our guide had about the same knowledge of the english languish. Wasted the first 1/2 hour driving to Panama City, which was NOT our destination, we had booked them to see the locks. The manifest stated the locks, but I don't think they knew how to... More

We took a tour from Colon to visit the Embera Indians this month and it was a fabulous experience. The guide we had was professional, courteous and informative. The trip was a cruise excursion and a great alternative to the huge groups the cruise ship had to offer. The experience riding in the canoe to the Embera village as well... More

While on a recent cruise through the western carribean we booked a private tour with Alimiza. We chose their Tour Pkg CL1: Rainforest+Monkeys+Colonial Park+Gatun Locks ($65/person). This is a tremendous value for such a wonderful tour and exceeded all our expectations. Colon itself is not a safe place you would want to explore, but getting outside this port city was... More

This is the second time in 2 years that we have been in Colon and both times we have toured with Almiza (My Friend Mario). Communication was clear and efficient. We were picked up at the port, as promised. The ship had docked at a different location than usual, but Alex, our guide, was right there to meet us, so... More

Read the reviews and booked a day trip off the cruise ship. Have spent some time in Panama and knew what I wanted to see. Pickup was prompt and there were 5 in a van. This day was when the Summit of the Americas Conference was going on and a lot of security and road closures.Obama and 30+ other heads... More

We toured with Almiza Tours by My Friend Mario while in Panama and our tour guide was Alex. He was friendly, entertaining and a wealth of knowledge on Panamanian culture. We went to the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center and toured the locks and the museum. The museum has an informative movie on the history of the Panama Canal, an interactive... More
