We had a 7 hrs layover recently in Panama City and Mario #2 was assigned to pick us from the airport and show us the around. Unfortunately when we reached Miraflores lock, we missed the last ship crossing usually only in the morning hours. Mario #2 was kind enough to immediate suggest we go to the Gatun lock at Colon... Perhaps I am judging by too high of a standard, but the trip was fine, but not truly awesome. We were in port for a day off the of the cruise ship. We pre-planned a custom tour that was to be 7-7.5 hours long, to involve a rain forest tour, a tour of Monkey island, and a tour of the Gatun... More

We were with a group off of a cruise ship that arranged a tour to the Embera Indian village and a tour of Gatun Lake locks in the Panama Canal. We were the first group off the ship and on our way by 6:40am. We traveled in a minibus for about 45 minutes to get to the place where we... More

We had a great tour. Very easy to find almiza tours upon exiting the terminal. Our name was on the list so we knew we were in the right hands. our guides name was Alex and he sure knew his history and all about the rainforest and plants, animals and insects. We were about 14 in a van. Nice small... More

As with the other reviews on this page we had an amazing day visiting the Panama Canal locks at the Atlantic Side before going into the national park to see native Indians and swim in a remote pool adjacent to a waterfall. Our trip was booked weeks in advance with no requirement for an up front payment. Joining instructions from... More

Arrived in Colon on a cruise ship and had to wait about 40 minutes in the sun for another party to arrive. After the tour began, things improved rapidly. We had booked a tour to the Gatun locks and San Lorenzo. Mario was cheerful and helpful during the tour and went beyond the call of duty to come back to... More

We were in Colon with cruise ship after transiting the Panama Canal. Had booked the tour online some months ago and found other people from the cruise ship to join via cruisecritic. Contact with Mario was very good. Answered all questions promptly. Gave detailed instructions where to meet on the pier. We had a minibus to drive us to the... More

Trip was booked on line prior to arriving in Colon and the booking process was very easy. We received full instructions via email, with photos and instructions with where to meet. Once we arrived we walked through the crowd of people trying to sell tours and to the designated meeting point, where we meet a representative of Almiza Tours. We... More

On November 8th, 2014, we ported in Colon by cruise ship. I booked the tour with Almiza 6 months in advance. Once off the ship and walking on the pier you will be heckled by the numerous aggressive carnival barkers/vendors trying to get you to go with them on different tours. Just politely ignore them! Go to the location that... More
