I hiked this trail from Cerro Punto to Boquette in September 09. It's a beautiful hike descending from cloud forest to rain forest. If you're into hiking, do not miss this hike. It is GORGEOUS. You have to take a taxi out of Boquete to get to the start of it, though. (It's not right outside of town the way it appears in the guidebooks.) Hiking boots and trekking poles came in handy. Some parts were quite strenuous. more
Sendero Los Quetzales skirts the north side of Volcan Baru and links Boquete (Alto Chiquero) with Cerro Punta (El Respingo). Entrance is $3.50 for locals and $5.00 for foreigners, payable in those ANAM park stations. The trail runs into the Caldera River. It's possible look a quetzal as well as monos aulladores, and other animals. more
