Our Ruiz coffee tour with Carlos was one of the highlights of our vacation. We learnt a wealth of information about coffee and were entertained by his sprinklings of humor. He walked us through the coffee process from bean to table, including different drying, sorting, roasting and even tasting methods. He has worked in every aspect of the coffee business... More

Ruiz coffee is a local family owned business with about 11 farms. Carlos was our tour guide. He is funny as well as informative and speaks English well. First he takes you to an area with benches and he gives you basics about coffee production. Then he takes you through the farm where you can see coffee trees, the drying... More

Coffee tour at finca Ruiz Carlos took us on a tour for 3 hours, to 1 of the 11 finca's the Ruiz coffee company owns. It was a super interesting tour with a lot of information about the whole coffee proces. I really learned a lot this day. After the tour you will head back to the coffee cafe where... More

We really enjoyed touring cafe ruiz. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about the coffee process and the industry and market in general. The farm is very artisan and environmentally friendly, not the same as the bigger industrial coffee growers. It takes about 3 hours, including a tasting. Plus gorgeous views of Boquete!

The tour lasts 3 hours. I'm not sure if it was because of the date we came in (April), the harvest was just finished, or if it is always like this. I believe this tour could last 1:30 to 2 hours. I felt the guide was really knowledgeable and i learned a lot about coffee, but the guide had to... More

We signed up for the coffee tour and our guide was a native resident of Boquete named Carlos. He drove us just outside Boquete and up to one of the Ruiz coffee farm areas where they also processed the coffee. He took us on a walking tour thru the coffee plants, and I was amazed how they had orange trees... More

Not being a coffee drinker, this tour didn't interest me as much as the others in our group. We drove to one of eleven of the Cafe Ruiz coffee farms and were guided though the farm by Carlos. He is a local from Boquete and has been raised in the coffee business. He has an interesting personal story that is... More

We toured cafe Ruiz after a recommendation from our hotel and were so glad we did! Our guide Carlos picked us up in a comfortable van at our hotel, and took us to the farm along with the other tour attendees. Upon arriving, we walked to a set of benches where Carlos talked about the history of Boquete, and told... More

We went on the three hour coffee tour. The guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. You have the opportunity to try coffee at the end of the tour and we opted to stay for a few more tastings at the cafe. We even ran into Mr. Ruiz who is 93 but still comes to work every day. If you are... More
