We toured cafe Ruiz after a recommendation from our hotel and were so glad we did! Our guide Carlos picked us up in a comfortable van at our hotel, and took us to the farm along with the other tour attendees. Upon arriving, we walked to a set of benches where Carlos talked about the history of Boquete, and told... More

We went on the three hour coffee tour. The guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. You have the opportunity to try coffee at the end of the tour and we opted to stay for a few more tastings at the cafe. We even ran into Mr. Ruiz who is 93 but still comes to work every day. If you are... More

We did the 3 hours tour. The guide Carlos is really good and pretty funny as well. We learned a lot about the process of coffee. The tasting was a good way to end up the tour.

After our B&B host recommended this tour over all the others (and his recommendations were always great) so we booked an afternoon tour. It was well organized and covered more info than I thought possible. The location was a bit of a drive but the driver kept talking and was quite entertaining. Once in the plantation, the guide spoke about... More

I would highly recommend the three hour tour which includes a tour of the coffee plantation including the manufacturing facility and a coffee tasting. Carlos is a terrific guide and gives a great tour. Carlos is both knowledgeable and funny. The plantation is beautiful. This tour is superb!

Never tasted light, medium and dark coffee as in a taste test. Learned so much about the whole process. I only want coffee from Panama now.

Let me say first that I am not a coffee drinker, so my wife and I were very doubtful to go on this tour. After all this was a coffee tour and we thought to ourselves what could be so exciting about it, especially for someone who does not drink much coffee. A lady we were staying at recommended it... I learn so much on this visit! Lots of stuff i thought i knew about coffee was so wrong! Carlos took us on the big 3h tour for 30$ which includes hotel pickup! You get a instructive speech, go through the fields, then the industrial machines, then back to the shop to taste different types of coffees! We got a... More

Carlos is awesome and the Cafe Ruiz tour was a highlight of my Boquete trip. I learned SO much about Coffee and about Boquete and the changes in the past years as more development (and exploitation) has come to the region. I really appreciated his candid and comedic perspective and will never look at a cup of coffee the same... More
