I learn so much on this visit! Lots of stuff i thought i knew about coffee was so wrong! Carlos took us on the big 3h tour for 30$ which includes hotel pickup! You get a instructive speech, go through the fields, then the industrial machines, then back to the shop to taste different types of coffees! We got a... More

Carlos is awesome and the Cafe Ruiz tour was a highlight of my Boquete trip. I learned SO much about Coffee and about Boquete and the changes in the past years as more development (and exploitation) has come to the region. I really appreciated his candid and comedic perspective and will never look at a cup of coffee the same... More

They have 2 tours the 3 hour one for $30 and then a 45 mins one $9. I am not a coffee drinker so we decided to do the small tour and if we wanted more info we would do the big one. The 45 mins was good enough for us. We saw a couple of types of trees, then... More

The guide, Carlos picks you up from your hotel and takes you back when the tour is over. He is very friendly, and very knowledgeable. Any thing you need to know about coffee, Carlos knows it. I learned a lot about coffee. And during the coffee tasting at the end I was able to differentiate, and understand what the distinctions... More

Cafe Ruiz was amazing! I spent just over a week in panama (visiting different parts of the country) and this tour was by far my favorite time spent on the trip. The tour guide spoke perfect english, and was so knowledgable about coffee production and sales all over the world. I am not a coffee drinker, but the mountains of... More

i went in early 2011, and experience has stuck with me ever since. The best coffee i've had in life to date as well as a very interesting tour. I highly suggest anyone in the area check it out, it's not to be missed.

The tour took just about 3 hours visiting three different sites of Casa Ruiz, a.k.a. "Cafe Ruiz". The whole tour was just great with only me and another Spanish guy - almost a semi-private tour! Whether or not you normally drink coffee, this tour would deepen your knowledge in how coffee beans are nurtured and processed, etc. Many thanks to... More

We had a great time on this bean to cup tour-and would highly recommend it. Carlos was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the company, coffee, and Boquete. He had a great way of explaining the process that made you proud to drink coffee-especially Ruiz coffee! I have twin 8 yr old girls and they were pretty engaged in the tour, they... More

This might be the best tour -- of anything -- that I've ever taken. And I don't even drink coffee. Carlos, the tour guide, is evidently a well-known Boquete character. (Not that difficult to be, perhaps -- it's a small place -- but still . . .) He is absolutely encyclopedic about coffee in general and Café Ruiz in particular.... More

Make sure to try and sample all of the different roasts and cafes. Geisha was the best. We had an amazing tour! It is definitely worth the experience. Staff were extremely knowledgeable.
