I live in Costa Rica and have a coffee farm. I learned much here about the differences in how Panama and Costa Rica operate. I loved the hands on roasting experience and the detail describing organically raised and processed coffee. I would like to return several more times.

I was told the best coffee tour was at the De La Luna coffee plantation owned by Richard Jeffers a California expat. He uses the tours to suppliment the coffee income and does the tours himself. He has all kinds of interesting information about the coffee business in Panama, and much more. The tour includes roasing, grinding and packaging some coffee... More

We were so happy we did this tour! Rich is a wonderful, down to earth man who has a tremendous passion for the well-being of the Panamanian people. His coffee farm is beautifully well-maintained and fair-trade. I was so impressed by his story and his commitment to running a business that first and foremost cares for those who work there.... A must if you are interested in coffee. Rich's farm is beautiful and he sure knows a lot of interesting facts not only about growing coffee but also it's history and the coffee industry.

Rich was a fascinating fun guide, who knew his stuff. He provided insights into the economics, politics, agriculture and processing of coffee, as well the delicious tasting, that is, "cupping".

I normally have no trouble writing reviews but with Finca Dos Jefes there is SO much to pick from I'm not sure where to begin. It's all good! Rich picked us up at our hotel and I enjoyed chatting with him as we tried to find the others on our tour; if you book through some tour group make sure... More

Just back from a morning trip to Finca Dos Jefes. Rich, the owner, was our tour guide. He is so passionate about what they are doing to change the way in which coffee farms operate, you can't help but be inspired by him. The tour was really informative as well as entertaining, through Rich's laid back, humorous style of guiding... More

I grow coffee, I sell coffee, neither was part of my plan when I moved to Boquete, both are part of my current reality. As a Boquete coffee grower I have sent my children to the coffee tour at Finca Dos Lunas and as a writer about Boquete I have been there too. Richard, Gary and Lazlo are the best,... More

Gary was a wonderful guide whose assign for the farm and coffee shone though. He kept the discussion interesting and informative. Being able to bring home the coffee we roasted was a great souvenir.

Like many other reviews, our tour was guided by Rich, who is passionate about not just what's in the cup, but the industry as a whole. He provides an in depth education in all aspects of the world's second largest international commodity, from the history of the coffee trade to the experiences of a modern day farmer. Equally serious and... More
