Like many other reviews, our tour was guided by Rich, who is passionate about not just what's in the cup, but the industry as a whole. He provides an in depth education in all aspects of the world's second largest international commodity, from the history of the coffee trade to the experiences of a modern day farmer. Equally serious and... More

The half-day tour by Ruiz Coffee Distributors is fascinating and immensely informative. Carlos, the guide, is very knowledgeable, delightfully entertaining and courteously critical of the pace of development in his beloved valley. You will learn, in a very interesting manner, much more than you can possibly retain!

Rich is doing everything right at his small coffee farm in Boquete. Excellent coffee, informative tour, but most important is his respect for the workers and the land. Be sure you book the coffee tour that goes to Rich's Dos Jefes - Cafe de la Luna coffee.

We got picked up by Rich at our hotel and on the drive up we were already in some of the greatest coffee territory in the world. He explained the process, the history, and had a passion to help those on the "bottom" end of a broken coffee industry. The tour is very personalized and can be as informative as... More

When friends visit Boquete it is always great to have them experience a coffee tour since Boquete is the coffee capital of Panama. Richard continues to provide an excellent overview of the coffee market globally as well as his perspective on the good, the bad and the ugly regarding pricing and coffee distribution. At Dos Jefes ( two bosses), the... More

This is a fine day out in Boquete for anybody (adults) even mildly interested in coffee and/or farming or growing. The setting is magnificent, the place so neat and lovely. The tour information and inside story is interesting, the tasting as well and the roasting educational and great fun. All in all it is worth the time, energy and cost.... More

Rich has a great thing going here. He can tell you all about (what's wrong about) the coffee business, and what he's doing to add his 2 cents. Great informative experience if you drink coffee (or not). Good to know where the process starts and what the big companies (not) do to keep the supply chain honest and fair. Includes... More

Very informative tour of a small coffee plantation. The guide, Jason, is like a professor of coffee -- he knows everything. I visited two other coffee plantations and learned the most at this one by far. Also, this plantation is more interesting from the standpoint of their size and ingenuity -- they make some of their own equipment. To me... More

This was my first visit to a coffee plantation and I did learn a lot. A guide will take you around the gardens first and then around the factory. The English speaking guide was very articulate and knowledgeable. The tour costs $30 per person but is worth it. At the end you get to sample coffee and a you are... More

This was our third time visiting Boquete and in a previous visit we had done a coffee tour that we really enjoyed. We wondered how another tour would be different or as enjoyable as our first. Well, we found a fantastic tour with Finca Dos Jeffes. The four of us had an outstanding tour with Rich. He was extremely knowledgeable... More
