We contacted Rich about a month in advance and received prompt replies and arranged our visit. The tour includes round trip transportation if you need it and we were supposed to be picked up at 8:50 am for the 9am morning tour. Based on some sort of mix up we were forgotten about and had to scramble to find our... More

This is a must do tour for visitors and expats living in the area. Not only did we tour the coffee finca with the owner, Rich, but got a good history lesson on the coffee business in Panama, roasted a batch of coffee and was given a bag to take home. It is evident that Rich loves what he does.

Awesome tour with great insights into the coffee industry and the coffee making process. Had a personal tour for my girlfriend and I because no one else came on the tour. Good value tour ($30) considering that you get a free (kinda) bag of coffee at the end.

Explore Ya on Central Ave. in Boquete took us to see where Royal coffee is produced. The place is fascinating. The owner, Sr. Tito, (who was there to greet us) was ingenious in finding innovative ways to make himself the equipment he needed. Our guide, Williams, was very knowledgable about coffee informing us about planting, picking, drying, sorting and roasting.... More

Two people do tours at Dos Jefes. Richard, the owner, focuses on the political and economic perspectives on the coffee industry I believe. We did the tour with Gary who focuses more on the coffee itself. He is the operations manager. We had a really good tour of this small coffee farm and were really glad we picked this one.... More

What an awesome experience we had with Garry at Finca dos Jefes! Being from Melbourne, Australia we are huge coffee drinkers and Garry's expertise, knowledge and interaction with us were second to none. This was probably one of the best tours I've ever done (and I've done a few over my years of travelling) for $30pp we got to roast... More

Having a place in the majestic Coffee Plantations around Boquete, Panama (I believe the best climate in the world) and in Beautiful laid back Isla Contadora, Panama (Pearl Islands) which is a 15 minute flight to bustling Panama City.

The owner of this coffee farm, Richard, will give you the inside scoop on why it is so hard for the grower of coffee beans to make a profit. He will walk you around the farm and teach you about his ecologically sound method of growing trees and handling the "cherry's". You will then taste two roasts and then participate... More

This tour was incredibly fun and interesting. The farm is owned by Rich, an American who moved down here for "retirement" (read: running a high-end coffee farm in a sustainable, ethical manner). He picked us up from our hotel, gave us an introduction to the coffee industry and growing process, a walking tour of his farm, a tasting of a... More

Just brilliant. What was interesting and different about this tour was that we learnt not only about how coffee is produced from start to finish but we also learnt a bit about the history and economics of the coffee growing industry. It has certainly given us a lot to think about. Rich was extremely passionate and knowledgeable as well as... More
