If you're in the David area, it's worth taking the bus ride to the tour. Richard will pick you up from several locations in Boquete. The tour was fun, educational, and tasty. The tour requires light walking as Richard takes you from plant to employee housing, to the mill.

A coffee farm tour was a "must" on our tour but which one to choose was a dilemma. After reading a few reviews we selected this one and booked it through Boquete Outdoor Adventures. Transportation is provided so you don't need to worry about that aspect. Richard gives you a brief history of the coffee industry in Costa Rica, how... More

If you are Boquete, this is by far one of the best coffee tours to attend. Richard is very is very knowledgeable of the coffee industry. This tour was a real eye opener of the coffee industry in itself. Richard picked my husband and I up from our hotel and we picked up other tour goers and went to his... More

We arranged the tour very last minute, Richard kindly obliged and came and met us and drove myself, my husband and our 7 year old daughter to his coffee farm. He was very welcoming and friendly. He gave is a very interesting overview of the coffee industry as it currently stands, explaining the need for radical changes within the industry.... More

We liked this tour very much. Rich is a passionate coffee farm owner. He told us so much about the coffee making process and his own farm. We loved this afternoon excursion, learned a lot and walked away with a new broadened view on our daily cup of coffee. We highly recommend taking the Finca dos Jefes tour during your... More

My girlfriend and I had never been to a coffee plantation before, so we didn't really know what to expect. And we can't really compare it to anything else, for obvious reasons. I, for one, had pretty high expectation, since this was something I really wanted to do while we were in Panama. Choosing Boquete coffee tours in favour of... More

We were collected by "Rich" at precisely the time and location that he stated and once inside his van he made my wife and i, as well as the one other guest, very welcome with some jokes etc. The plantation location and grounds were very picturesque and were an obvious source of pride for our host. Rich sat us on... More

I live in Costa Rica and have a coffee farm. I learned much here about the differences in how Panama and Costa Rica operate. I loved the hands on roasting experience and the detail describing organically raised and processed coffee. I would like to return several more times.

I was told the best coffee tour was at the De La Luna coffee plantation owned by Richard Jeffers a California expat. He uses the tours to suppliment the coffee income and does the tours himself. He has all kinds of interesting information about the coffee business in Panama, and much more. The tour includes roasing, grinding and packaging some coffee... More
