I would highly recommend the Kotowa Coffee tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Hans, who guided us through the whole process. What a wonderful place and employers who care about their employees. We have even changed our coffee likes after this tour. Formerly "dark roast" drinkers, we now favor blonde or medium. Don't miss this chance to see a... More

We took our tour in April 2014. We were picked up at our hotel and transported to the farm by Hans. We learned a lot about growing coffee and I learned so much about tasting. Hans is a wonderful guide and we enjoyed ourselves immensely! A great experience!

Do not miss this tour. Terry's enthusiasm and knowledge made for a wonderful New Year tour of the coffee plantation, factory and tasting for the four of us. We have learned to appreciate the important and subtle differences of micro climates, varieties, processing, roasting and preparing coffee. The history of the estate is also very special. She is a great... More

My family and I have enjoyed wonderful times at the Tinamou Cottages before, but last week on February 4th my sisters and I went on the Kotowa Coffee Tour that Hans leads. It was simply the most fantastic tour of any kind I've had. He combines an encyclopedic knowledge of the coffee industry, from how the workers pick and sort... More

We took the Kotowa coffee tour while in Boquete with Hans as our guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable about coffee and was quite entertaining in his sharing of information. I really didn't know all that much about coffee before the tour...I just knew I liked to drink it every morning. Hans shared so much that I could become a coffee... More

Totally by accident we stumbled upon the coffee tour. Hans speaks perfect English. With explanations peppered with humor, historic politics and current facts we enjoyed every minute. We were also looking for a good place to stay. Luckily for us, Han's also has rental cottages that are nestled in the nearby mountains. Immaculately kept, another beautiful experience. I would recommend... More

Hans (the guide) was friendly and has a lot of knowledge about coffee. I thought the tour would be more in the fields, but it was mostly inside the processing and roasting facilities of the farm, which was actually really interesting. The tour seems mostly geared towards those who have a very basic nature of coffee, but if you're interested... More

I took the tour several years ago and learned a lot but thought it was too technical; a little mind numbing. I now live in Boquete and the price for 1lb of coffee has gone up considerably, even if you have friends in the business. But Kotowa has a pound of ground coffee (which is not technically the best way... More

The sightseeing/transfer tour from Boquete to the ferry at Almirante to Bocas town by Hans of Coffee Adventure tours is a very enlightening, interesting and worthwhile trip to take. I would also suggest including visiting the Ngobe Bugle Indian Settlement along the way which is an option of the tour. This is not just a simple alternative transfer from Boquete... More
