The saga of the Green Sea Turtle is one of the wonders of nature. And at Ras Al Jinz, one can have a first hand experience of this miracle. We had been to this Turtle reserve two years back. It was an exhilarating experience then as well, but there were many flaws with the arrangements at the resort. Things have... More

Let me start with the one and only positive point of this experience : the turtles. Massive, impressive females line the dark beach, laying eggs, covering eggs, and heading back to sea, totally exhausted. A wonderful and amazing thing to see. Everything else, however, was awful. We, as did everyone else, had reservations at 9pm. We discovered upon arrival that... More

We have made a special road trip from Dubai to Ras al Jinz to go see the turtles, and booked an eco-tent for 2 nights, on 7-8 August. The tents are located up a hill behind the resort (3 min walk), parking available in front of the resort and also next to the tents. We were in tent 24, with... More

A holiday resort away from the routine monotony of concrete jungle. We booked two bunk bed rooms for a family of two with children after a mail sent to the front desk which got a prompt and detailed reply from Mr.Tyron. Check in 2pm and check out 12 pm! We drove from Muscat and after visiting a few places like... More

There are very few places in the world where you can see turtles lay their eggs and then hatch throughout the year and Ras Al Jinz is one of them. There is usually a definite season for both and yet even out of season at least 2-3 turtles will make their way up the beach each night. This is a... More

For green turtle viewing, this was an extraordinary experience. While July and August are the peak months, we saw green turtles emerging from the surf, laying eggs and returning to the water on June 6 -- not just one or two but multiple. Fox tracks across the beach in the morning and crabs scurrying back and forth at water's edge... More

I was really looking forward to see the natural wonder of turtles coming out of the sea to lay eggs and tiny turtles hatching in an environment that seemed to respect nature. But how was I surprised. When we reserved our spot for the night tour, we were a bit afraid that we would not get in any more, as... More

I visited the turtle sanctuary for the first time in 2003 when it was merely a simple but cosy camping ground. In April, I returned with my kids to watch the turtles and stay now at the new accommodations offered by the sanctuary. The place is quite different as it lost its basic feeling, but is now more civilised and... More
