The Railway station is located near the river and the port. Is a beatifull building that has an arc that has movement with the air temperature and air pressure. You can see the cables that suspend that arc. I tried to put a photo but it was not possible. I try again later.

After 30 years of degradation, Beira is changing from a once modern architecture of the 60ies to a recently fast and "uncontrolled" growing African city. The railway station still awaits a major renovation, and therefore remains a classic beauty of modern architecture.

Beira Railway station is noteable architecturally as a fine example of 1960s modernist design. It is actually rather like the main station in Rome. For many years it lay deserted but now there are regular services to Chimoio and beyond. The station also appears on some Mozambican coins. Don't miss it if you are in Mozambique's second city.
