A long, wide breathtaking beach. Perfect for all kinds of sporting activities, or just for sitting in the dunes and contemplating the sea. Beware of camel and horse droppings and quads buzzing by. It's unfortunate that parts of the beach are quite dirty, strewn with rubbish and plastic brought in with the tide, or thrown there by some locals. Also,... More

The challenge was to get out to the sand near the water because everyone is playing soccer and only small paths were made in the sand between the goal of one court and the goal of the next but it was worth it. To dip your feet in the Atlantic Ocean is being grounded.

A long beach where the tide goes out a long way. Very popular with kite surfers, wind surfers and boarders. Camel & Horse rides on offer. Places to drink and eat around the perimeter. It does get windy and the sand blows around but not too unbearable most of the time.

Its very, very long and goes for miles into the distance. We did visit other parts of the beach closer to Diabat and further on day trips and typically were the only people around. There did seem to be a lot of rubbish everywhere, whether closer to town or isolated, so not sure i'd want to sunbathe on it. The... More

A beach of many parts, busy close to the town with lots of football pitches, families and promenaders, then beyond the pitches the hotel stretch, then the surfing and kite surfing areas and beyond that the Castle in the Sand and miles of breathtaking beach pounded by the waves of the Atlantic. Stunning!

A great beach to walk on. We did see some sunbathers but it is very windy. There is surfing at the far end when the wind picks up in the afternoon. Really nice place to visit.

It's a huge beach with wind surfing at one end and the port and football at the other. It's golden, clean. gently shelving and firm, with plenty of restaurants and cafe's to stop off at for refreshment.

I didn't have any high expectations of this place judging from some of the reviews I read but we were pleasantly surprised. We went in February, obviously off-season and the water was cold but we were lucky to have a sunny warm day that allowed for a stroll along the wide sandy beach. The camels and hawkers weren't as annoying... More

The beach was fine but it wasn't the cleanest beach I have ever seen. It's wide and has plenty of space if you want to find a quieter place or join in with the locals playing football.

Hands down a great place to spend the day or week. Nice beach, lovely cafes, and great shopping in a clean environment. Oh and did I mention how great the fresh seafood was? I would love to go back for 5-7 days and soak up the culture and try the cooking school.
