It's just a beach and the water is an unattractive colour so we wouldn't advise swimming. It is however very pleasant to walk as the sun goes down. Great photos, lots of fellow travellers and locals. The walled areas around the harbour are particularly attractive at this time.Beware of people who offer to take your photo on your camera and then... More

we visited here via Marrakech on a Thompson excursion. From Marrakech its a 4 hr journey with a couple of stops, 1 to see the goats in a tree, 2. to visit the Argan oil factory. we had a guided tour around the market, which is a lot quieter a respectful than the Sousse in Marrakech. whilst the others went... Beach is very long, sandy along its full length. On the whole clean, though dogs are allowed and there are camels and horses at the south end. The beach is shallow for some distance and seemed safe to me for children. It has good access from a wide walkway. It is very well lit at night with strong lights that... More

A totally hidden gem. 7dh on the local bus from Essaouira, the beach is virtually deserted, a few little cafes and surf shops at one end of the beach. The obligatory camels, horses and quad bike operators, but this place is just a little bit magical! well worth a day trip, or even two if you really want to relax!

This is one of the biggest beaches I have seen. goes on for miles (well, it seems to). Very clean too. There is a very gradual slope to the beach so the tide goes out (and unsurprisingly comes in) a very long way. Despite this there are some very large waves here.

Essaouira beach is very laid back and a great place to chill out. There are horse riding and kite surfing activities down at one end and lots of watersports offered. We visited in November and it was very windy, often quite chilly. I imagine this would be much nicer in the high season

The beach is beautiful and flat. Watching sunset on the horizon while sipping a cup of tea or a beer. What else do you need?

Camel rides available on the beach . Large expansive beach so plenty of room to relax. Many people come her to surf. Close to the town so easy to get to and from local hotels

This is a fine long beach adjacent to the Medina of Essaouira. There is a fine promenade including some essentials like public toilet and changing facilties, as well as some cafes and bars. We rented lounge chairs for only about €3.50 for two and sunned ourselves for a while. But the real treat was being treated to a parade and... More
