The first question to ask is: is a trip to Essouira worth the journey? Yes and no. The fishing port area is fun, but the medina is not the best. As what one would expect to be a major tourist draw, this town is in less than great shape, even for Morocco. And the ramparts are perhaps most disappointing, especially... More

As with the rest of this city most places of interest can be covered within 2 hours. The Ramparts are interestin for some nice views and to see history except for the walls there is only cannons to see. The Ramparts lead onto the square by the Portugese Harbour. It is a three and a half hour journey from Aggadir More

Imagine him in black face staring down from the Ramparts as Othello as he did for the film of that name, all black and white and very film noire. Good harbor views, near medina. Don't miss the woodworking shops, which use local wood and objects made on site. More

This is really just a big stone fortification with some old cannons placed here and there. Nice views, but really not a whole lot to see but with an entrance fee of 10 MAD (1 Euro) it is worth it just to take a few pics. More
