By small groups (8 persons maximum) and supervised by a professional team (a cook and a trilingual presenter) our hosts discover the secrets of Moroccan gastronomy and are initiated into the delights of one of the best cuisine in the world. In a friendly and casual atmosphere, those half-day workshops teach each participant how to prepare a full traditional meal that one can then easily reproduce at home. « less

A highlight of our trip. The class was fun and informative. The chef who taught us paid great care and attention to what we were doing and was assisted by a woman who translated everything to English for us. While out tagines bubbled away we had a quick trip to the spice souk which was very informative. Then back to... More

it was a real pleasure and fun participating at the workshop ! we cooked a beef tajine and a harira soup. Mona was a great teacher, i had a lot to learn from her in only a few hours. Alison and her daughter are absolutely gorgeous. I totally recommend taking the class. After preparing the food we took a tour... More

We had a great time learning to cook traditional Moroccan food, briouaetes andchicken tajine. Everyone was friendly and helpful and we're sure we can cook the meals at home too. Thank you

Our Moroccan cooking course at l'atelier Madada was real fun. Though we've picked a fairly complicated dish (Pastilla), all the steps were understandable and it was a lot of laughing and chatting while preparing our dishes. The instructors were always addressable in French and English. While our Pastilla was in the oven, they also took us to the Spice market and... More

The best cooking class, followed by a local market tour, I've ever taken. Mona is very pleasant to work with, the premises are immaculate and the recipes prepared delicious. It is a real highlight of any Essaouira visit. A great introduction to Moroccan cuisine, which I have replicated over and over at home always with a WOW factor. Fully recommended,... More

This morning of cookery at l'Atelier Madada was a highlight of our week in Essaouira. The course was held in part of a restaurant in an old warehouse, with Mona the chef and Alison who provided both translation and a lot of extra local detail. As the first to book, we chose a sea bass tagine with a harira soup... More

We had an wonderful time at this cooking lesson. Mona the chef has a delightful mischievous sense of humour but an excellent eye for detail, while our translator Alison was lovely company and very helpful and informative. The food was sublime and plenty of it. The highlight was the trip to the spice souk to learn about the different morrocan... More

This is probably the best thing what I have done in Morocco. I´d like the chef attitude, not too easy going. Make you cook exactly right. Would I go again? Yes!

The cooking class at l'Atelier Madada should be a part of everyone's plan in Essaouira. We were four traveling together and had the class just for us. We learned how to make Pastilla and zucchini chermoula and both were a lot of fun to prepare and delicious to eat afterwards. Mona, the chef who taught us, was very nice, had... More

I signed up for the course at Madada Mogador and was told that I would be the second person in the class. When I arrived the first person had cancelled so I received a private lesson. What a treat! We made a delicious eggplant appetizer and beef couscous. Both were fabulous. It was a real treat being with Mona and... More
